Born on her homeworld, Naboo, Padme Naberrie lived in a small mountain village, where her skills as a leader and as a politician were recognized early on in life. By the age of twelve she was made Princess of Theed and at fourteen was elected Queen of Naboo. Upon her ascension to the throne, she changed her name into a more formal title, Queen Amidala. Her old persona, Padme Naberrie was soon made into a handmaiden, a disguise she could slip into whenever the time called for it.

Only months after her victory in the elections, Padme's planet was invaded by the Trade Federation. The greedy Viceroy tried to force her to sign a treaty that would make their blockade legal. Amidala soon proved her strength when she was able to take back her homeworld with the help of two Jedi Knights, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn and a young slave boy Anakin Skywalker.

During her quest to save Naboo, Padme's life and the lives of many were forever changed. She found that her only hope was to plea her case to the Senate and convince them to aid her in freeing Naboo from the Trade Federation. Though to her chagrin, it turned out that the Senate was just as corrupt as her advisor during her stay on Coruscant, Senator Palpatine, had told her. Following the Senator's advice, Padme as Amidala, called for a vote of no confidence that pushed the current Chancellor, Valorum out of his seat and made Palpatine leader of the Republic. Little did she know, she was being played by the vile Senator and by making him Chancellor she had begun a new path that would lead to the Jedi and the Republic's downfall.

After saving Naboo, Amidala resumed her role as Queen and led her people peacefully. Though like all rulers, she had to retire in her role as queen. The Naboo soon elected a new leader and Padme became the new senator for her people.

Not many people would even begin to suspect the role that Padme would play in the galaxy... She would be married to Anakin Skywalker-future Darth Vader-and was the mother to the twins Luke and Leia Skywalker. Though her story with Anakin was only just beginning...
