Dear Neighbour,

For the fourth year running, the cultural wing of Parivesh Suraksha Committe has decided to celebrate Poet Laureate Rabindranath Tagore's birthday. We do not have words eloquent enough to congratulate them. Nevertheless, without your constant encouragement and active participation over the years, all their efforts would have been fruitless.

According to the Bengali calender, Rabindranath was born on the 25th of the month of Baisakh. In 2005, this coincides with the 9th of May. However, 'An evening for Rabindranath' will be held a day ahead, on the 8th, Sunday, at 6.30 pm. Venue : Amritakunja Apartments (45/A). Many, many thanks to Amritakunja for hosting the event.

The neighbours want you on that day, from the eldest to the youngest, everyone! You have been fighting valiantly since 2002. You have sent them back, those 'dealers of darkness.' You have ushered in many changes for the better, protected the pond at all cost.

You have sung, you have danced, you have recited. You have churned that depthless sea, Kaviguru's immense body of creations to bring out the proverbial pot of nectar. It is not that you practise everyday, but that did not make you shy. Your firm determination to create a new, healthy locality has given melody to your voice, rythm to your speech.

We sincerely believe that you will be with us on the 8th of May, Sunday at 6.30 pm. Thank you
