PARIVESH SURAKSHA COMMITTEE goes GLOBAL!!

www. geocities.com/jadavpurgreens

Dear Neighbour
Words of your tireless efforts against pollution and civic anarchy will now spread across the globe through the medium of the INTERNET. Images of and news about the Parivesh movement will now be available wherever there is an internet connection - from New Zealand to Greenland.

Very recently(Sunday, August 10, 2003) "jadavpurgreens" was published from a free server. Please pay a visit, and ask others to visit as well - especially those who have their nearest and dearest ones living outside Jadavpur and in the far flung corners of the country and the world. All web savvy young residents, tell your friends that it is "you" who have made the Jadavpur Greens possible.

Today, a green movement is the same as a fight for our lives! Trees are disappearing fast , CO2 levels are rising, as also Global warming. Just look at Europe! Various green movements are now picking up pace around the whole world. Global thoughts, local action!

Its interesting to note that the whole city is gradually waking up to the fact that the loss of greenery is a cause for serious concern - something you had considered a good one and a half years ago The days of indiscriminate destruction of wetlands and ponds through construction activity must soon come to an end. Where will we live in the future - in concrete barrenness? The days of civic anarchy brought about by terrorising people must also to come to an end. And it will! We have had enough. People of the 'Community of the Pond' are united. News of this united resistance will spread afar through "jadavpurgreens"

Tips for Internet Explorer users - Geocities has a free service, but often "script error" messages pop up while trying to load a page hosted in their server. The fault, in most cases(and certainly in the case of our site, which is pure HTML, and entirely script-free) lies with their advertisement square which, on failing to load, triggers the "error" alert by the browser. But this is so irritating to the web-surfer. Too bad, but what else could we do, this, ostensibly is a "free" service! and we are not yet ready to pay.
Solution - Simply click the "OK" button on the error box. The advertisement will not load, but the page will download uneventfully (Is that too bad?!!). If you wish to remove the alert pop-up altogether, uncheck(by Clicking) the "tick" mark against "always display this message when a page contains error". Like its shown in the image. Thats it! - your browsing will henceforth be hasselfree. Nonetheless, we need to think about hiring our own server space in the future.
