The M.Div. program requires 84 term hours of academic credit.  A minimum cumulative grade average of 2.0 on all course work is required for graduation to the M.Div. degree. A minimum cumulative average of 2.0 is likewise required for continuation beyond the second term and for continuation in school beyond the fourth term.

A.M.E. students must take three (3) term hours of courses specifically designed for Methodist/African Methodist Episcopal candidates for ordination.  These courses are A.M.E. History and A.M.E. Faith and Practices.  All A.M.E. students who are candidates for ordination must complete these courses with a grade of �C� or better in order to successfully complete the requirements to receive the M.Div degree.

The course requirements, totaling 84 term hours, are as follows:

I. Thirty term hours of Basic Theological Studies:
A. Twelve term hours in biblical witness, as follows:
  1. Three term hours in OT 5301 Interpretation of the Old Testament I
  2. Three term hours in OT 5312 Interpretation of the Old Testament II
  3. Three term hours in NT 5321 Interpretation of the New Testament I
  4. Three term hours in NT 5332 Interpretation of the New Testament II
B. Six term hours in Christian historical witness, as follows:
  1. Three term hours in HT 5301 History of Christianity I
  2. Three term hours in HT 5312 History of Christianity II
  In addition to these six term hours, A.M.E. students must take and successfully   complete six term hours in Methodist studies, as follows:
  1. Three term hours in HT 6301 African Methodist Episcopal Church History
  2. Three term hours in HT 6311 A.M.E. Faith and Practice
C. Twelve term hours in theology, as follows:
  1. Three term hours in TH 5301 Introduction to Theology
  2. Six term hours in TH 6311, 6322 Systematic Theology
  3. Three term hours in TH 6332 Moral Theology
II. Fifteen term hours of Basic Ministerial Studies:
A. Six term hours in CW 5301, 5312 Introduction to Preaching
B. Three term hours in CW 5322 Christian Worship
C. Six term hours in CA 7301, 7302 Church Administration
III. Nine term hours of Contextual Studies, as follows:
A. Six term hours in HT 7341, 7352 Introduction to World Religions
B. Three term hours in CW 6301, The Church and Society
IV. Thirty term hours of electives, with the following stipulations:
A. At least fifteen hours of elective work must be from courses within the     Division of Practical Theology.
B. At least fifteen hours of elective work must be taken within the Divisions of   Biblical, Historical, and Theological studies at the 7000 level.
