Ok. We all know what happen to Ty Longley, and I am not going to rehash that. If you do not know, do a search for his name. Ty, you are a very missed man, but I want to take this page and honor your music.
After Ty’s passing, Knight Records put together an awesome tribute to this up and coming guitar player. Featured are 10 songs that feature Ty. From him just jamming, to a live Great White recording, it’s here! I will go track by track, giving the name of the song, name of the “Band” he is playing with and their web-site address. Of course, my feelings on the song too. So, here you go. Ty Longley, “Regular Guy.”

Vacation
Ty Longley (click name to hear this song)
This song is just Ty being Ty. A very raw jam where it almost seems like he is warming up to lay down some studio tracks. Very easy on the ears, and shows the talent he had. Amazing scale work also. A fun song to listen to!
Runaway
Christi
This, by far, is one of the best songs I have EVER heard! Christi has an amazing voice and Ty’s playing just complements it beautifully. The song is an acoustic piece, and from what I can hear… just features the two of them. I plan on e mailing each band that featured Ty to find out if there is an entire CD with his playing... or just a song or two. I will post what I find in my updates when info comes in. "Happy in love, sad and lonley, not sure what you want… slow down, runaway."
Wasted
Dax
This one finds Ty plugged in. And another haunting ballad. If you guys know me, you know I am a sucker for the slow songs. This guy can SING! The first time I heard this song, it had me a bit teary for several reasons. First. You get to hear what kind of passion Ty had in his playing. Very blusey song, and shows off his tallent to the max. Second. They lyrics. "Yeah, I'm wasted, yeah, I'm wasted, it wasn't suppose to end this way." I know that the song is about love... but in the end... for Ty, "It wasn't suppose to end this way." You really can't help but think of Ty when you hear this... and realize... it really wasn't suppose to end that way. Such a tallent, that we wont get to see mature. Very sad.
Planted For Me
5 Cent Shine
This song picks up the CD a bit. Kinda a mix of hippy and metal music put together. The lead singer has a pretty good voice. I think they should get rid of the "hippy" part and go for the metal! The intro kinda brings the song down, but overall an average/above average tune. Ty once again, even with the material of the song... does a great job, especially when he gets to "rock" out.
The Death of Lolita (Half a Million Miles)
Dax
Another great song from Dax. Another moving ballad too. So far the CD is amazing, but I am having a problem with it. Since I have never heard of these bands, it's hard for me to sit down and tell you what I think each song is about. As with Great White... I have heard every song written many, many, MANY times. Because of that, I think that I can almost tell what Jack and the boys were writing about. I can't do that here. But what I can tell you is that Dax seems to be a great voice, and I do like his style of music. So, with that, if i had to compair this song with any GW song... I would have to go with "Miles Away." For the feel of someone "on the road." They also talk about Elvis in this song, as does GW in "Miles Away." What I might do, is when I get CD info from wach of these artists, I might also ask for them to write a few words about each of these songs... to help everyone out a bit. I will say, about this song, I do like it very much. Looking forward to hearing more of Dax.
Need Your Love
Christi
Second effort from Christi, and just as good as the first. Another accustic song, but not really a ballad, more mid-tempo. With the two songs off this CD, I am seriously looking at finding one of her CD's to see what the entire thing contains. I really enjoy simple lyrics that say so much more that what was written... example : "As long as the sun shines from the heavens above, I'm going to feel the shear excitment rushing through my blood. Like Jack told Jill going up the hill, I hold your hand all your life, that no lie. I need your love. I need your love baby. I need you lovin' arms wrapped around me every night." Just says everything. A front runner on this CD for my favorite song. Worth the money just for the two Christi and Dax songs.
Together
5 Cent Shine
Every CD must have a weak song. Welcome to "Tegether." It's an OK song. Ty really shines on it, but just not my cup of tea. Really, nothing against 5 Cent Shine... but I really don't think I would go out and pick up their music. But as we have come to know, as adults, to each their own!
6 Days
Track #9
Visitors
Maestro Alex Gregory
A few words about Ty, Plus two vids.
OK! YEAH! GOOD ROCK-N-ROLL!
Now that I got that out of the way, I will say these two track rock! More of a progrssive rock in the likes of Dream Theater and new Savatage. Both songs feature RIPPING guitars and soaring vocals. It's hard to describe... so I will say check out the two links I put up... and do a search for "Maestro Alex Gregory" and check out some of the sound clips you find. If you like Metal... you will like this!

Great White - Live
You know this song and Ty is wonderful on it. A very raw recording, so you wont find the quality of "Great Zep" but if you love the way Great White does Zep... this song is a must have.
