The fire at The Station Night Club this past February affected countless families and lives. One of the victims was Ty Longley, guitar player for Great White. While he was only one person, he was special to many people. His band mates, Jack Russell and Mark Kendall, are now touring to raise money in his name along with the other 99 that passed away. The Station Family Fund was set up to help those who no longer could help themselves. Even though it may be difficult to understand, Great White is touring with a purpose. All of the profits from their shows are being donated to The Station Family Fund. Some think they should not be touring and doing what they love� But I think differently! Jack and Mark, along with the rest of Great White, are doing all that they know how to do� which is to play music and try to heal everyone�s soul. To speak to Jack is to see the pain in his heart. He, along with everyone else, lost 100 friends and family members that night� and this is how HE can help. I was able to speak to Jack at a recent show, and you can still feel that pain in him, a pain that will never go away. Many people found it necessary to attend a recent show at Jaxx Nightclub in Springfield Va., or in Allentown PA. Many said it was a chance to finish a night they had started earlier this year� many said they used the shows as closure� and others just felt it necessary to confront Jack and Great White. Everything that was resolved remains personal� some have expressed their feelings, while other have kept their meeting to themselves. But one thing is common� the willingness to let Great White help in their recovery. As their concert tee-shirt states� Help us Help Them. So many people lost Friends or Family. Even though I didn�t know Ty very well, he was part of my family� My Great White Family. I miss you Ty!
