JASON ARNETT has been self-publishing his own mini comics since December of 1999, when he started the ambitious JACKLEG COMICS series. Over the course of fourteen monthly issues, Jason did all the writing, lettering, layout, printing, binding and most of the artwork for more than 160 pages, including issue #8 which began life as a 24 hour comic, as suggested by Scott McCloud.

Upon the completion of the final issue of that series, he took a short break and came back with THE CHEF SPECIAL, featuring a 600 year old ladies man named JIMMY CAVANAUGH. Deciding to pursue submissions to larger publishing houses, Jason teamed up with artist RON FONTES and wrote several TALES OF THE TERMINAL DINER for him in return for Rons art on a scuttled project called THE WEAK. Jason also found some time to make another one-shot mini comic called THE STONE MAN that was well-received by all who read it . Along the way, hes also been a regular contributor to the BELT SANDER comic, an APA-styled independent publication for contributors only.

Feeling that hed accomplished so very much within the Jackleg Imprint, hes retired it in favor of the newer AJASONT PRESS, to signify that he hopes to publish small independent works alongside larger, more commercial stories in the near future.

Coming up, hes working with artist SVETLANA CHMAKOVA on a seven page story for an online anthology called FREE COMIX! which should hit the web sooner rather than later. Hes also working on another three issue mini series called JENNICA featuring characters from the JACKLEG COMICS run, and has another two issue book called TRADER that hes excited about and wants to see drawn.

Jason is also a member of the KANSAS CITY COMICS CREATORS NETWORK, where he talks to other aspiring comic creators.During the day, he works hard at his job and talks about making comics every chance he gets.
