| Shaolin Wooden Men |
| Not as bad as I was expecting! So far, most of the Lo Wei films I have seen weren't that bad, but I have yet to see the ones that are on everyone's Worst List. So glad that I didn't have to worry about someone doing a bad job of dubbing Jackie--he played a mute! The rest of the dubbing wasn't too bad except for a few parts they ignored trying to match the lip! It seemed like they were trying to only talk when the lips weren't moving! THAT was distracting! I wonder why it was called Wooden Men. Those things (very stupid looking things) weren't very much of the main plot. They were in it for two scenes, which was more than enough. They should have been made tougher looking. During a few of the scenes that took place at night, it was really hard to make out details. Maybe because it was very light outside my house. Great job of acting. Hard to get points across when you can't speak. I would have liked to see him mime things a little more. People had too easy of a time knowing what he wanted to say. I like most of his older films for the cool training sequences and the comedy. Not much comedy in this. There were a few training scenes ( I see where he got the idea for the snake fist from) and a good fight scene at the end. Great interview from around the success of Supercop at the end which alone was worth the money I spent on the video, but the video held it's own as well, so it was worth the money, too! *7/10 |
