| The Medallion (AKA Highbinders) |
| Not quite as good as I was expecting, but definately better than I was worrying about from some of the recent fan reviews. I would rather watch this 50 times than see the Tuxedo one more time :) I did find Watson very annoying at times. Some of the humor coming from him was hilarious. I kept wondering what was cut from the movie, and I hope they will release those scenes on DVD. Watching the outtakes, a good portion of them were from scenes I don't remember...including one that looked like a small spoof on...Sherlock Holmes? There was a little bit of Chinese dialogue in the movie, but it was dubbed. *sigh* The end cut did seem pretty rushed and action packed, the filming a little too close, and is best watched without blinking. The beginning wirework wasn't too bad, but the unbelievable stuff with jumping/flying had me rolling my eyes. They use green screens and conputer effects and that was the best they could do for those few scenes? Oh well, the action, fighting were top notch, the dialogue a little hard to understand, but decent. The only part(s) that seemed out of place were the beginning romances and the looks and "moments" between Jackie and Claire (Was that her name?) I am all for a little romance in his movies, but not corney stuff that makes me want to gag. Definately on my to-buy-list. 7.5/10 |
