| I bought this before I had even seen it; boy, I am sure glad I did!! This film had me laughing every five minutes! The dubbing is the best I have seen. This didn't really have much to do with the original Drunken Master except for that style of fighting, but that didn't really matter. We even get to see some of "The Eight Drunken Faeries," or whatever they are called, including the female (I guess he finally mastered her!)!! The person that played his dad was only 7 years older than him and his (step?) mom was much younger. She did a great job!! Even "Uncle" Bill Tung made an appearence! I hope that I don't wear my copy of this out in the near future! This is my favorite of his HK films. It might even be the best of them all! 10/10 VCD Review This was the first VCD I saw. Pretty similar to the English version except for a few more minutes at the very end where we get to see the results of Jackie drinking all the industrial strength alcohol! Very funny! The VCD was worth it just for that one scene! A couple extra seconds here and there as well as a few more seconds of outtakes. This came in a Cantonese version and Mandarin version, and I listened to one (not the one that has some English in it), so I need to watch it one more time. I thought that the soundtrack wasn't as good as the English version (except for the end song). Probably because I have watched it so many times that I have it memorized! 10/10 (if I had given the English version a 9, this would still be a 10) |
