| VCD Review: The only thing I can say is Wahh!! Excellent movie!! My VCD I ordered has a few flaws: Subtitles run off the screen (I'm use to it), one time they got really big, and sometimes they weren't even there like in the last scene after the fight (Anybody want to tell me what was said??) The VCD also skipped a little, but I think that that was due to age of the footage and some bad segments. Even with those flaws I still loved the movie. Tied for my favorite movie right now! I can understand why the bun pyrimid scene took a record number of takes, assuming that the football-style scene counted. I watched that with my mouth open! Quite a few of those scenes were taken in one cut! Jackie spent almost a year filming this, and it turned out great! A few noteworthy scenes: When Dragon (Jackie) had to recite a few poems that he lied about memorizing to his father, he used various ways to cheat including his shoe, notes under the rug, his friends...I laughed so hard during this. The shuttlecock/soccer combination game, awesome! How were they able to do that?? The friendship between Dragon and Cowboy (played by Mars). I need to track down a subtitled VHS tape now (unless the dub is good) so I can get all the subtitles read. * This was his first HK film to use outtakes at the end. 10/10 |
