Well only parlty. Actually the foil is part of the "Radiant Floor" heating system this house will feature. I'd never heard of the system until I started looking for alternatives to what is common here in Chile. The idea is that these tubes circulate heated water and radiate warmth into the house from floor level. Never again will I have to leave a warm bed and step on a cold floor!
This is a traditional barbecue which is held for the construction crew on the occassion of putting up the first roof rafter (which is what "tijeral" means). Sometimes a few close friends are invited. We committed the mistake of having the "friends" outnumber the crew. They took it well but the event would have been much more successful if we stuck with the crew. You might want to keep that in mind if you're ever building here.
