It's a house!
Barely three weeks into the job and the house is taking a house-like shape.   Usually things seem to drag on forever in Chile but this job has been advancing FAAAAST.   At the start, the person I hired to oversee the job told me that he would deliver the house complete in 4 months ... and that was allowing a couple of weeks for unforseen delays.
Oh Crap!
We don't often think about all the crap that we produce when we live in a house, but when you build one you have to provide for it.   This shows how we get it out of here...
A word from our sponsor

Will HONDA pay me to publicize their products on this page?  This was one of my unforseen surprises in this job.  The Electric company will be some time yet before they will get the power line extended (largely at MY cost) and I purchased this little beestie so the carpenters could use their electric tools.
Slab floor

The word is slAb, no slOb, in case you're not paying close attention. The sub -slab floor gets started with hardly 3 weeks into the job.   Outside walls are up.  From here on in things will start to happen fast.
The monsoons have come!
(Oh damn it...and right in the middle of the rainy season!)
Not much work got done this day.   I didn't even bother to get out of the car to take this picture.  Fortunately, to date there have been very few delays like this.
We're raising the roof!
Just a couple of days after the rain storm and the weather's been great.  Now the guys are putting on the frame that will define the shape of the roof over the living room area.
