Summary: Daniel is dead and Jack has to get his things from Daniel's apartment before the USAF send someone in to clean it out.

It’s the day before the Wake at Jack’s house.

Brief Candle.
Daniel is particularly attentive when Jack is taken away by the women. He is
quite annoyed to find him after the DEED with Kinthia, ripping his glasses off
in frustration. He wants to stay with Jack, and is the one Jack cuts off - not
allowing him to say "goodbye". He is the one that makes the passionate
plea to Hammond about leaving Jack behind.
Fire and Water: This fits between the Funeral Service and the Wake best because, at the Wake Jack discusses retiring (like why has Daniel's death driven him to this decision if *something* wasn't going on?? huh??) He's extremely frustrated and agitated (smashing up the General's car window) and his constant denial in accepting that Daniel was actually dead. It's at the Wake that General Hammond orders him to clean up Daniel's Apartment, but up til then they would have assumed that someone else would be doing it. Therefore this - to Jack - would have been the last time he was in his lover's apartment. Therefore he took boxes of Daniel's stuff out the night before (with Sam and Teal'c) having to select a few things to keep as remembrances. The fact that Daniel didn’t like any outward show of affection "could" go someway to explaining the hands off reunion at the end by the sea, but you have to admit - you *ever* see Jack with such a big smile like he had at the end of that episode? Sushi ;-D
Oh, the only other time I’ve seen Jack’s smile so big was the Space Monkey scene. Now *that’s* got me thinking too .. LOL ;-D
While this is meant to compliment the story, it’s also just a story on it’s own.. I hope.
Warnings: I'm a "shipper. I like to deal in the relationships of the characters of the show. While this story is more of a romance than a hard core slash, there is sex contained within these pages. Also, there is a hint of "rough - housing" although it's not over the top! This story is basically a 'love story'. If that sort of thing doesn't appeal to you, please refrain from reading it.
