| --YOU MEAN EVERYTHING TO ME/YOU COMPLETE ME (Continued) The others: She's My Kind Of Rain by Tim McGraw, She's Everything by Brad Paisley, You're My Better Half by Keith Urban, You Surround Me by Bebo Norman, I Could Not Ask For More by Sara Evans or Edwin McCain, How Do I Love Her by Steven Curtis Chapman, Need To Be Next To You by Sara Evans, You Save Me by Kenny Chesney, I'll Die Tryin' by Lonestar --Sometimes it's best to just keep it simple and say I'M IN LOVE WITH YOU, like these next songs do. The one you've got to check out: It's You by Ryan Cabrera It's you. Such a simple statement, and yet it says so much. It's you. You're the one who's always on my mind. You're the one that makes my heart skip a beat. You're the one I love. It's you. Another solid choice: Lemonade by Chris Rice If you're going to compare love to something, why not choose something as simple and sweet as lemonade. That hot summer day drink that cools you down and quenches your thirst is the perfect choice in this song. And when life's pouring you a little lemonade, you can't help but smile. Rice's typical lyrical abilities shine through yet again and create another favorite love song verse of mine: So take your time to answer me/For the beauty of romancing/Is to calm your trembling hand with mine/While begging love to fill your eyes/I can hardly breathe while waiting/To find out what your heart is saying/And as we're swirling in this flavor/The world is tilting in our favor. And, once again, Rice has captured something typically me when he speaks in the chorus of this song about being a sucker for happy endings. The others: Bless The Broken Road by Rascal Flatts, Walking Her Home by Mark Schultz, It's Your Love by Tim McGraw & Faith Hill, You Had Me From Hello by Kenny Chesney, Amazed by Lonestar, Love Of My Life by Jim Brickman featuring Michael W. Smith, Godsend by dc Talk, I'll Be by Edwin McCain, What I Really Want To Say by Steven Curtis Chapman --Like everything in life, sometimes LOVE IS FUNNY TOO. The one you've got to check out: That's Love by Brad Paisley Paisley's track here is the reason there even is a "Love is funny" category. Brad pokes fun, quite accurately, at the lies people tell in love..."No, you don't look fat in that dress"..."A bald head is sexy"..."I love it when your mom comes to visit"...and so on. But, as Paisley points out, it's something you're both going to do, so get used to it, 'cause that's love. The others: Amusing by Chris Rice, Just Another Day In Paradise by Phil Vassar, Shame On Me by Ryan Cabrera --Yes, love is funny sometimes. But sometimes, it's very, very serious. Sometimes it's hard. And that's when you've got to remember that, together, WE CAN WORK IT OUT. The ones you've got to check out: In A Real Love by Phil Vassar, We Build by Nichole Nordeman Vassar's song reminds me of...me. Or at least a situation I could myself in. Being 22, working way too much for way too little, spending more than I have, marrying younger than I should have, and then finding out that she's pregnant! But making it through everything with her because we're, well...in a real love. Nordeman's track is one of those tracks that makes you think of all those fights you've ever had with that other person in your life. Again, it focuses on making it through the rough times together, and it's a truly beautiful song. The others: Why Should The Fire Die? by Nickel Creek, I Lost It and The Good Stuff by Kenny Chesney, Your Side Of The World by Steven Curtis Chapman --There are also many songs out there that remind us of the vows we share when we get married. IT'S YOU AND ME...FOREVER. Something that we too often forget. The one you've got to check out: From This Moment On by Shania Twain featuring Bryan White The original, non-Adult Contemporary-radio version of this song is an absolutely stunning rendition that captures the essence of the wedding vows to perfection, because it's not just one person singing it...it is one man and woman, together, promising forever to each other. You simply can't beat that. Another solid choice: Time & Confusion by Anberlin This is one of the most up tempo songs on this list, but it fits perfectly in this category. The song is littered with simple statements of love throughout: I won't do this without you, so take heart/'Cause you know that you have mine/...When time & confusion collide/I hold it all when I hold you/...It feels like we could last forever/And I'm not doing this alone. Through it all, we've got each other. Go on... |
