| --IT'S YOU AND ME...FOREVER (Continued) The others: On And On by Kevin Max, Disappear by Hoobastank, Only One by Yellowcard, I Will Be Here by Steven Curtis Chapman, Me And You by Kenny Chesney, Making Memories Of Us by Keith Urban --They say distance makes the heart grow fonder (Or something like that). That thought is proven true in these next songs, which consistently state, I'M MISSING YOU. The one you've got to check out: I See The Moon by Chris Rice Yes, this is the fourth Chris Rice song on this list. Yes, it's the third to be "the one you've got to check out." Get the picture yet? The man can write a love song with the best of them. This particular one focuses on the moon. Ever noticed how it seems to look how you feel? Chris did, and he wrote about it. And, on this particular night, Rice muses, Look, tonight, the moon looks like he's missing someone. The moon sees me and the moon sees her. The moon sees the one I want to see. The one I'm missing. Her. The others: I'm Already There by Lonestar, Standing At The Edge Of The Earth by Blessid Union Of Souls, Somewhere Out There by Our Lady Peace, When I Look To The Sky by Train, Here Without You by 3 Doors Down --You know, all this talk about being in love, and missing someone when you're in love, and being together forever, and so on and so on...you know, to have that, first you have get past FINDING LOVE. And yes, there's plenty of songs written about that too. The one you've got to check out: Somebody Like You by Keith Urban Keith captures the essence of searching out and finding love in this track. After letting go of everything that was in the past and leaving it in the past, there's only one thing left to do, as Keith says: I wanna love somebody, love somebody like you. Finding the one who makes you feel like there's nothing you can't do. It's a fun song, and it's definitely one to add to your collection. Another solid choice: Waitin' On A Woman by Brad Paisley Women are always late to everything! Okay, no, that's not the message of this song at all. Well, it is, but it's not a complaint by any means. In fact, Paisley writes it as a praise. Taking her time makes it all so much sweeter, so the two men conversing in this song don't mind, and neither does he, whether it's waiting for her to make a dinner date or simply waiting for her to come along into his life. The others: Endless Helpless Hoping and I Would Look Good With You by Josh Gracin, Fall In Love by Kenny Chesney, All We Ever Find by Tim McGraw --And, to finish things off...yeah, you knew it was coming. But don't get all giggly. Sex is a very important part of a real love and marraige. And, when done correctly, the LET'S MAKE LOVE songs are truly some of the best songs out there. The ones you've got to check out: The Secrets That We Keep and I Give In by Sara Evans Sara Evans is the master of the tasteful sex song. Why? Well, probably because she writes from experience, but also because she writes of real love. This isn't just sex for the sake of sex. This is a physical expression of a very real emotion. Both of these tracks showcase exactly why saying "Let's make love" is not at all cheesy, if it's truly meant as a loving bond between a man and a woman. Some other solid choices: I'll Take That As A Yes by Phil Vassar, Come A Little Closer by Dierks Bentley These two songs are two very different songs. Bentley's track is much like Evans' in that he keeps it very simple and loving. He seamlessly weaves together the "love" and the "making" in love-making with lines like, Come a little closer, baby/I feel like strippin' it down/Back to the basics of you and me/And the love we used to know. Take it to the basics. You and me and love. Vassar, on the other hand, leaves little to the imagination, even in the song's sub-title, The Hot Tub Song. The chorus is very blunt: You wink, I laugh/'Cause we know/A little hug leads to a foot rub/Than a hot tub/Then a French kiss on a bear rug/Do you like it?/Do you like it?/How 'bout this?/You wanna try it?/Oh, I'll take that as a yes. However, even as blunt of a song as it is, Vassar manages to write and sing it without making it sound trashy. The aspect of actual love is still very much there. And that's what makes it such an excellent song. The others: Tonight by Sara Evans, I Melt by Rascal Flatts, O. Lover by Jason Mraz, Brass Bed by Josh Gracin, Help Me Make It Through The Night by Martina McBride So, there you have it. 80+ songs full of love. Check them all out if you can, but, at the very least, check out the big ones in each category. It will be well worth your time. |
