| Project Profile This project is designed for 11th and 12th grade special education students who are preparing for their transition from school to work or to post secondary education. School to Work Learning Objectives After the completion of a career interest survey or interview the student will identify five occupations within a career cluster. Using the occupational handbook the student will identify the nature of the work, work conditions, employment outlook, average earnings, qualifications and training needed for his/her chosen occupation. The student will identify, discuss, and practice answering possible interview questions. Given guidelines and examples the student will complete his/her resume. Academic Content Standards These standards were obtained from the Ohio Dept. of Education Academic Content Standards K-12 English Language Arts text. Research: Students define and investigate self-selected or assigned issues, topics and problems. Communication: Students learn to communicate effectively through exposure to good models and opportunities for practice. Classroom Management There are only two computers in the classroom. The class will go to the library or computer lab. Students can visit the web sites before or after school in the classroom. |
