| If you are a special education student and are preparing for post secondary education here are a few suggestions to assist you in that transition: ** Get information on special exam arrangements for the SAT and/or ACT. ** Make sure that your last Evaluation Team Report (ETR) is current and request a copy from your school district before you graduate. You will need your ETR in order to receive services in college. ** Keep a copy of your last Individualized Education Plan (I.E.P.). ** Contact the Office for Students with Disabilities at colleges when applying so that you are aware of what services are offered. Objectives: The student will state how his/her rights and responsibilities in college differ from high school. The student will search for a college by career interest, major programs offered, state, and region. Standards Reading Process: Concepts of Print, Comprehension Strategies and Self-Monitoring Strategies: Students develop and learn to apply strategies that help them to comprehend and interpret informational and literary texts. |
