Hi, I'm Jen... welcome to my website!
This is what I looked like
when I had some "glamour" photos taken a couple
of years ago:![]() |
My favourite person (at least, not
in my family) is Dean Cain.
And what a nice husband I have - Joe has kindly given me permission to drool over Dean in public (although what Id actually do, should I ever meet him, Im not too sure). I could fill this page with more pictures of Dean, but instead, I'll let you do your own search and see what you can come up with for yourself! |
There are
more photos of me (and other family members & friends) on my Super Hero Costume Page.
For
more of an insight into what I enjoy, take a look at my BlueBook.
| I grew up in Perth, Western Australia | ![]() |
It's a lovely place to visit, but I
prefer Melbourne, Victoria. It was here that I met Joe, and we married and (eventually) had David in 1992 & Megan in 1995. |
For a very
long time, my favourite show on TV was
, starring Teri Hatcher as Lois Lane
(Kent) and Dean Cain as Clark Kent. In the US this programme was
cancelled in 1997, althought it still airs in syndication on TNT.
In Australia the first two seasons aired on Channel 7; the last
two on Channel 9 and it currently airs occasionally on Cable TV.
Fans of the show often refer to themselves as FoLCs, which stands for Friends (or Fans) of Lois & Clark. During my time as a rabid FoLC, I collected a lot of URLs for favourite L&C websites. Some of them are listed below:
| Ever wonder if
Clark Kent and Calvin Klein has more in common than their
initials?
This picture was created by Linda Lowe and is used here with her permission. |
Zoomway is an
omniscient goddess amongst FoLCs. Her website has
everything about FoLCdom you could ever wish for, and
MORE! She also runs messageboards on the
L&C theme at her website. You'll find everything from
discussion on the actors in the show, to fiction written
by fans, based on the show to Superman in Other Media.
Enjoy getting lost there! I've included a link to the first of three ABC Press transcripts of interviews with cast and crew of Lois & Clark. They range from 1993-1995 and include some rather interesting information for fans of the show. I've also created some webpages with ideas for Lois & Clark desktop themes (including some zipped collections of animated cursors, other cursors, background/wallpaper files, and sound bytes from the show). In addition, I've got pages and pages of lists of all the L&C sounds I have on my computer. These pages only list the sounds, they aren't linked there. However, if you're interested in copies of just a few, I'd be happy to oblige you and send them out to you. Finally, I simply MUST mention the Lois & Clark fanfic site. From this site you can download fiction based on the show, written by fans of the show. The fiction can be sorted by Author, Title and Theme. There is also a "What's New" page attached to the fanfic. This link is one I'm very proud of! "...the Chicken or the Egg" is a fanfic story that I wrote for Lois & Clark fandom, which was nominated for a Kerth award in their first year. Enjoy! You can read it, starting here, or you can download it from here in *.txt format, or email me to get it in Word format. The story has been translated into a variety of languages by FoLCs. Unfortunately the Hungarian version's website is no longer current. It has also appeared in a printed collection of Fanfic produced by the MacWombat group. Oh, and if you find my story interesting, you may also enjoy Debby Stark's Swap Meet: Burbank and Margaret Brignell's Swap Meet: Metropolis. |
Other TV shows I enjoy watching include the British series "The 1900s House," "The 1940s House" and "The Edwardian Country House" (which aired here in Australia in late 2002 on the ABC. US shows that I try not to miss are ER, Charmed and Smallville. (The links here are all for Episode Guides, so if you don't like spoilers, you might like to avoid clicking on them.)
Just about the only Australian show on my must-watch list is Who Wants to Be a Millionaire on Channel 9.
Authors whose work I like to read include:
Old books that occasionally get pulled off the bookshelf to be reread include CS Lewis' Narnia Chronicles, Sylvia Engdahl's Heritage of the Star, a lot of Asimov's junior fiction, Eleanor Farjeon's Martin Pippin the Daisy Field (especially the short story "Elsie Piddock Skips in Her Sleep"), Joan Aiken's All But a Few, and A Harp of Fishbones; Richard Adams' Watership Down, and many many more.
Some of the book links above are from Amazon.com. Especially since books in Australia are so expensive, Amazon's prices are seriously worth considering.
In recent months, I stopped working due to family pressures, and have found time to spend using my new Janome MC9000 sewing machine that does automatic embroidery. I've been able to develop a little niche market, having created designs for tea towels and hand towels for use in Kosher kitchens, which I sell by word of mouth. Here are some photos of the towels.
