Post A Message

Among other activities I enjoy listening to music, travelling, learning languages and anything that concerns Everton Football Club (no emails from Liverpool fans or Mancs!). I have also spent a year (1997-1998) in Montpellier, France studying among other things, French. Although my French did improve greatly over that period, my Swedish improved 10 fold. This was due, in no particular order, to: David ("Mr. CS gas man!!!"), Petter ("Chief Inspector Monkey...."), Kalle ("Tack vore dig ska jag aldrig snusa igen"), Anna S., Johan ("Don't eat the popcorn!"), Mathias ("I used to hate you but now...."), "Full som" Hanna, Gunnar, Johanna, Frederik, Therese, Björg...I mean Björn, "Come on" Elin, and last but not least Anna A. "som inte kan handskas med spriten!"

Following my return from France, and in order to relieve my 'homesickness' for the good ol' days in Montpellier where I also played table tennis (Montpellier Table Tennis Club), I decided to study towards my MSc. in Information Systems at the University of Liverpool. I graduated with the Degree of Master of Science with distinction on December 13th 1999. Anyway, as you may have already discovered by now, one of my main areas of interest is table tennis ("What do you mean you are surprised?"). My primary degree dissertation, which I undertook at University College Chester, was titled "The Globalisation Of Table Tennis." It entailed the compilation of a sociological study analysing the apparent origins, development and initial diffusion of table tennis.

If you are interested in this area you can contact me and, as soon as I get the time, I will get back to you. Perhaps you might have some information that I can incorporate within my ongoing research - I am currently working with Daniel Bloyce, a former lecturer, (still) friend and unfortunate Newcastle United fan, at modifying this topic with the aim of being published in a sports related journal. If you are interested in any of the above then e-mail me. Hopefully, I will get back to you sometime this year!

SPECIAL BONNIE MENTION:

I would just like to say hi to my alligator-loving, bunny boiling, Swedish belly-dancing friend from California who has been feeling all left out over not being on my web-page.

'The Dream Team':

During the season 1998/99, in addition to participating in the Wirral League, I captained the Liverpool University men's team - reaching the national finals of the BUSA team competition. Found in the picture below are two other team members of the University team - Dr. Chris Campbell (centre) who also participated in the Wirral League and Antoine Consigne (right) - and, yes, that's me on the left of the picture.
