| To give light to middle earth there were two trees that shone brightly. These trees had been created by the Valar. An elf called Feanor captured some of the light from these trees and put it into some jewels. These jewels were called the silmarills. Unfortunately Morgoth came along with a gaint spider ( Shelobs great, great, great, great, great ... you get the point Grandma) called Ungoliant and Ungoliant poisoned the trees therefore removing all light from middle earth. A Valar got some of the last drops off sap and made the sun the moon and the stars though. Meanwhile Feanor was becoming friends with Morgoth and Morgoth stole the silmarills!! Two silmarills were lost one became a star but Morgoth kept one. An elf and a man stole the remaining silmarill and they carved it into the necklase that Arwen gives to Aragorn. |
