"What happened?" She asked.
"I don't know." Lisa told her.
Janet finally got the courage to look up and saw Jermaine at the doorway. Janet let out the breath she had been holding in.
"Damn, you scared me."
"What happened in here?" Jermaine asked.
Janet fell silent and looked back at the body on the bed. She tried to stop her tears by closing her eyes. It didn't work. Jermaine walked into the room. He didn't say anything when he saw Latoya. He just swallowed really hard and refused to cry. He hugged Janet by the waist and they stood there for awhile, until Janet had calmed down.
"LaToya died." Lisa told her friend, Jenny, on the phone the next morning.
"Oh my god, really?" Jenny asked, in shock. "First Michael, now her."
"Why do people keep saying Michael's dead?" Lisa cried. "He's alive!"
Jenny was silent as Lisa started to cry.
"Lisa , I'm so sorry." Jenny told her.
"He's not dead, jen." Lisa sobbed.
"How did she die?" Jenny asked softly.
"No one knows. She was resting one day just....stopped breathing." Lisa said, wiping her tears. She was pacing back and forth with the phone in her hand. The side door was open, letting the cool air from outside in the house. Passing the door once more, she could've sworn she saw Michael's silhouette outside the screen door. She looked again and he was gone.
"Lisa? Lisa, are you there?"
Lisa swallowed hard. "Yeah. Um, I'll talk to you later. Bye."
She hung up the phone quickly. She stood still in the silence of the room.
"Michael, please, I know you're alive." Lisa whispered.
"Are you sure you want to do this?" Lisa said. It was a week after Michael's "death".
Janet nodded. "I just want to see."
Lisa sighed and the gates to Neverland opened. Both Janet and Lisa have been there many times but they have never looked at Neverland as they did now. Neverland was what was left of the person that they loved. When they headed to the house, they saw Debbie outside sitting on the steps. She bounced Paris on her knee.
"Hey Debbie!" Janet called.
Debbie looked up and gasped. "What are you doing here?"
Lisa could help but eye Debbie's neck. There were two fresh puncture wounds.
"Why shouldn't we be here?" Janet asked.
Suddenly, the front door opened. Michael Jackson stepped out.
