Knightly is a fun loving dog that wants to be by our side in whatever we do. He is loyal and true. He is very protective of our boys and makes sure that they are safe. He is quickly becoming the Alpha of the place making sure that the animals know he is boss and goes where he pleases. Yet, he knows his place and is very bidible. Even though he is a strong guardian he is not overly agressive. He is gentle with the goats and loves to come and watch us milk. With the chickens he carfully herds and stops when they do and stands by watching, allowing the chicken to be picked up. Knightly also likes to try to do what ever we are doing. One day we were out removing tree limbs from the ground and building a burn pile. Knightly watched and went back and forth with us. Finally, I gave him a little limb and joyfully he helped us carry different branches as we built the pile.
This past winter he surprised us. One of the children noticed that he was gingerly carrying something in his mouth. At closer notice it was a baby bunny. They brought it to me and we started giving it goats milk and warming it up. In a few minutes Knightly was back with another bunny. After this we went out hunting with him and in all had found 4 bunnies. We reasearched and realized that the bunnies had been abandoned by their mother and were probably crying out when Knightly found them and brought them to us.
After a few days only two had survived and were thriving. When we knew they would survive we put them back into the field..
