Oh well. The important thing is it is a good game. You start off playing as a single character, although you can employ the services of several units of soldiers, each with ten hit points. These you battle against other generals and their units in typical strategy style, although each battle has a well defined plot.

You gain new characters (generals) as the story progresses, and they all have different strengths and weaknesses - some can use magic, some ride a horse or dragon etc... One of the best things about it is that you can get promoted after reaching level 10 (just like in ShF), but you get to choose what class you change into, out of a choice of 2! This happens every time you gain ten levels, and so there is vast playability, as different routes of classes will become available to you.

Because there's very little information about the game available anymore (Alamone's site went down a long time ago, and that was pretty much the only reliable resource), I've stuck up a guide for Langrisser 5. For those unfortunate enough not to be able to speak or read Japanese, it should help a great deal.
Unfortunately, Langrisser doesn't get what it truly deserves. Only the first two in the series were translated into English (as far as I know), and they were given the name 'Warsong' instead - which is rubbihs, because it doesn't really have anything to do with the story...

And I don't know too much about that, either, cos it's in Japanese!!
