THE GREAT TURKEY REVOLT
Turkeys are often abused and mistreated.
plucked and overfed before they are eaten.
One turkey stepped up and refused to be dinner,
and this is the tale of how he lived through the winter.
There was a turkey, known chiefly as Neil.
Who was destined to be next holiday's meal.
A turkey who realized the week of Thanksgiving,
that it wasn't exactly the high-life that he had been living
. Neil realized when the turkeys started to disappear,
that the day would soon come that all turkeys feared.
The day of death, and the day of the great turkey slaughter,
the day that took the lives of his brother and father.
Neil wasn't about to let them eat him,
let them have a pig, a cow, or maybe a hen.
He would rally the turkeys, lead a revolt,
free all his feathered friends, begin the Turkey Cult.
The farmer was about to drive into town. When he saw Neil at his feet as he
looked down.
He never realized that Neil was so fast.
When he jumped in the pickup and stepped on the gas.
He drove through the pasture, right through the barn.
He drove down the dirt road, and sped away from the farm.
The first stop was the butcher, a ways down the road,
where he talked to the turkeys in secret Turkish code.
"Gobble, gobble, gobble, gobble ,gobble, gobble, ...gobble"
I can't translate what he said, but the turkeys seemed inspired,
they wrecked the man's shop, and set the butcher on fire.
50 turkeys in all, hopped in the back of the truck,
but were forced to abandon, for in the mud they were stuck.
A ways down the road, sat a fast, shiny car
and the turkeys knew the next farm was not very far,
and so they decide, if they were to travel the mile,
why would you walk? When you could travel in style.
So they stole that fast car, and drove, down the road,
where disaster awaited, the great turkey load.
It was getting dark, and Neil couldn't see,
but the turkeys all chanted "Go faster, wee, wee!!!"
So Neil sped up, and swerved through the rail,
they were headed for a cliff, they all had to bail!
Now imagine their terror, disbelief, and sheer fright,
as they saw down the road, two giant headlights.
The turkeys were frozen with fear and forced to stay,
and could not move a muscle to get out of the way.
The trucker was tired and was getting quite comfy.
When the road all of the sudden became thumpy and bumpy.
The next day, was hard on Neil the brave turkey,
for all of his friends were turned into beef jerky.
The great turkey revolt had made a turn for the worse,
from the very beginning it all was a curse
.
It really was a blow to Neil's colorful personality.
When he discovered the harsh and cold reality.
That he was created only to live until he
fulfilled the dull pain in somebody's belly.
