Ms. Short is a retired teacher and librarian from Edina, Minnesota. She taught English in a local school for 20 years and was the school librarian for 10 years. During her teaching time, she taught most of the adults in the area and many of their children, as well. She was a tough teacher, but fair, and is very much loved and respected. Many of her students can tell you a story or two about her, and let me tell you, she can spin a few tales about some of them as well!
A widow for several years, Ms. Short returned to work part time as town librarian. She is 82 years young and may never stop working!
Ms. Short met the other girls on a literature discussion community on the internet. The group has been communicating regularly for 6 years-discussing various books they have read. This year they decided to meet and take a small vacation together in Longville, MN. They had read that Longville was the smallest town in Minnesota to have a public library, and had heard of Longville's turtle races on National Public Radio last year.
