What is a Soldier's Aid Society?   This is a question that we try to answer.  They were mainly Societies established to aid the civil war soldiers.  These were local groups such as the Ladies' Aid Society of Greencastle which was in effect in 1862.    They sent care packages to the soldiers to assist them.  For more research, please checkout The Sallie Bingham Center,
Fanny and Vera's Guide, and The Atlantic Gaurd Soldiers' Aid Soceity.
