The Watershed Education Project provides trainings in Project WET, Adopt-A-Watershed,
Rapid Bioases-ment, and Native Plant Propagation. The number of trainings each year
depends on grant money awarded upon feedback from you!
Depending mostly upon word-of-mouth, the WEP strives to reach as many K-12 educators as possible. providing low-cost trainings
(and when we can, reimbursing substitute costs) enables us to successfully articulate
watershed-related curriculm throughout the school districts of the Butte Creek watershed.

What is Adopt A Watershed?
AAW is a nationally recognized, integrated K-12 science curriculum which uses the local watershed as a focal point for bringing theory into application.
The Watershed becomes a living laboratory in which students in hands-on-activities, making science directly applicable and relevant to their lives.
Each Unit addresses grade-level appropriate, standards-based concepts and allows students to undertake field studies, restoration projects and community action activities.
Once a teacher has received training in any AAW unit, he/she may teach any of the AAW units.
Kits and curriculum are available to borrow, by anyone who has received AAW training.
