The first step to drawing manga is getting the head right, if you mess it up you can say goodbye to fame and glory! |

Don't call me sexist for doing the male eyes first! I only put this before female eyes to show how a simple mistake can make them look like female eyes!
Male eyes are often misunderstood for "evil" eyes because they are usually norrower so quite a few manga artists draw them almost identically to female eyes. |

|
|
|
|
First lets draw a right eye, to draw a left eye just follow the instructions for the rigt eye but make the eye mirrorred to the one you already have drawn, as if shown in a mirror. To begin with, draw a line that is almost horizontal but with a quick and small downwards curve on either end of the line (most artists draw them in the left side but I prefer to draw them on the right) and make sure the whole line is thick, especially at the point where it curves downwards. |

now get a ruler and draw two guidlines going inwards from both sides of the thick line you drew earlier so the two guidlines cross. These show where you need to draw the bottom half of the eye. Draw a line that is about 2/3 of the lenthg of the top underneath it but make sure it lines up with both the guidlines and the top half of the eye. |

Manga noses are simple but sometimes people forget how simple. And mouths are no exception. Try out the tutorials below yourself and see if it can work for you! |

First draw the circle and and curved lines for the chin and put a vertical line through it. Find the exact middle of the bottom part of the circle and draw a curved line and a smaller, more curved line underneath. Well that's the nose done. And draw a horizontal line underneath the nose for the mouth but make sure its not too wide and draw a very small line underneath the mouth. This is where the chin begins. |

Now draw the head out again but make this one a 3/4 view (so there will be a curved line instead of a straight one) and try to draw the nose and mouth for this and see how close it comes out to my version underneath. |
