Chapter 1

When it all Started

A scream late in the night woke Luicus and Narsicca Malfoy. They had just sunken into bed after wrestling a crying Draco to stay in his crib.

Narsicca bolted out of bed to comfort her year old son, but after reaching his room, she fainted upon seeing her child. Luicus arrived right after his wife and he also stopped and stared at what he saw.

His infant child, had the customary pale skin and light hair from his mother's veela line, and the Malfoy gray eyes. But, there was also one thing that Luicus didn't know about his child, something that he was about to find out.

Blood was dripping down Draco's tear stained face. The previously mentioned baby was crying and shaking: although still fast asleep. His hands were reaching up, as though trying to grasp hold of something important to him.

After a few minutes however, Draco calmed down and the blood stopped oozing down his face. Luicus picked up a rag and started to wipe off his son's head and when all the blood was cleaned off, the rag fell silently to the floor.

"There is no time to lose," Luicus thought as Draco's silvery eyes opened and fixed themselves on him. Those eyes, so much like his- yet so different. With a different purpose in life, much different then he could have ever imagined.

Luicus Malfoy raised his wand and whispered a spell. The cut on Draco's head healed, and with another whispered word, it vanished from sight. But the spell wasn't powerful enough, a minute later, the scar reappeared and it took a much more powerful illusion charm to keep the mark hidden. Indeed, the spell was so powerful, that Luicus thought nobody could reverse it.

How wrong he was....

He left the room, and a moment later his wife woke up and got up of the floor. She moved to her baby's crib, and picked him up. Softly, she started singing an old song she remembered from when she was a child.

"Little blue canarry, by the lightswitch...

He watches over you.

And builds a little birdhouse in your soul."

She continued to sing untill Draco's eyes started to droop. Finally, he was asleep and she made her way back to her own bed.

~*~*~*~*~

Harry Potter was just falling asleep, a soft song in the back of his head.

Sure, he was scared and wanting his mommy and daddy... but there didn't seem to much that he could do about it now. He hadn't been scared when he was falling- those two ghosts were helping him, but then they had gone away. That's when he was scared.

The hairy man had been very surprised when he had noticed Harry's forehead hadn't been bleeding. Staring and touching it with a gentel finger. But it still hurt, it was still a little raw.

Harry gave a sleepy little sigh and the arm around him tightened. Feelings of contentment and sleepiness were surrouding him, seeming to come from the inside and the outside. The little boy gave another sigh and finally fell asleep, dreaming about a little boy with gray eyes. This was his dream friend, they communicated with dreams. Harry never saw all of this friend, the little boy was usually surrounded by a gold glow that blocked out most of his features- but Harry could always see his eyes. And right now, they were both rather scared.

Slowly, the gold glow fadded away, and Harry was able to see more of his dream friend. But before he could get a good look, the little boy also vanished. Harry slowly started to cry over the loss of not only his parents, but also his friend.
