| I met the rest of the tour group the second day after breakfast. Most of them had arrived in the wee hours of the morning, with the exception of Stu and Abby who were delayed in Amsterdam and showed up shortly after breakfast. There were nine of us plus Andrew - our tour leader. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Abby & Stu from Leeds, England. During the tour, they were to become major shareholders in the Stella Brewing Company of Cairo, Egypt, and co-owners of the Corkshire Yunts. Jo-Anne - A Human Resource Manager for a large telecom company in Sydney and proud owner of a cat with rounded ears that talks! Leslie-Anne and Jim - one can do head-stands, the other is apparently terrified of trains! I'll let you guess which is which! Sarah - The proud owner of a trinket of every type sold in the souqs in Cairo, Aswan and Luxor! She turned down two marriage proposals in the same night in Luxor, and finally chose to move to Karnak and become Queen Nefertari 99. She should be packing her bags as we speak! Jo & Shirley - from the Land Down-Under. Co-authors of "Travelling Light and Other Tall Tales for the Amature Traveller". Yours truly (Ravi) - Sure travelled a long way from home to catch up with sleep and take in a snack! Andrew - our fearless tour leader! Made sure that we always had a "buus" to ride in, and that all our bags were on the "buus" before we took off. Knows every sheesha place from Cairo to Aswan! Saleb - our guide in Cairo. Egyptologist extraordinaire! Salah - our guide in Luxor. Born and raised in the village of Karnak, he knows the temples of Karnak and Luxor inside out! A Town Councilman, and a movie star to boot! He played a role in the movie "Death on the Nile" based on the Agatha Christie thriller of the same name. |
