PYRAMIDS AND SPHINX, GIZA

We spent the afternoon of the second day visiting the Pyramids and Sphinx at Giza. This was certainly one of the highlights of the tour, despite swarms of vendors wanting to sell us everthing from postcards to camel rides!!
As a Civil Engineer, to stand at the toe of the pyramids and gaze up at the apex, and knowing that these massive structures were designed and constructed with great precision 3000 years ago, was indeed an awe-inspiring and humbling experience.
