EGYPTIAN MUSEUM |

We spent our fourth morning at the Egyptian Museum, located at Midan Tahrir, a short drive from our hotel. As expected, the Museum has an incredible collection of Egyptian artifacts. The Museum however, is poorly maintained. Most of the articles have little to no labeling, and I suspect that this would be a little frustrating for individuals venturing out on their own. Fortunately, Saleb was our guide that morning, and was more than happy to point out the highlights and other details about the major pieces on display. |

The exhibit of King Tutankhamun was undoubtedly the highlight of our visit to the Egyptian Museum. This is the famous funerary mask of King Tut. Nearly 250 lbs of solid gold!! |
