Chapter
eighty-nine:
Becky
had just finished her book when she heard a car pull up out front.
She pulled back the sheer curtain on the window and peered out into the front
yard.
Zac, and Isaac were now home, but
Becky
put aside her novel and walked into the main foyer. She held open the door for
Isaac who was carrying two guitar cases. “Hi, how was your day?”
He
shrugged and replied “For once, I think everything is going to plan.”
Becky
smiled. “Good.”
She
continued out the door and into the driveway. She met Zac with a kiss after he
hoisted his backpack out of the back seat.
“How
are you?” He smiled.
“Great.
Luke’s here.”
“He
is? That’s weird. He didn’t tell me he was coming…” Zac shrugged.
“I
was surprised too. So was Jen. He just showed up in a cab.”
“Oh.
That is odd.” He chuckled and draped his arm around her shoulders. “I’ll have
to ask about that. How was your day? Did you get your nails done?”
“Yeah.” She held up her hand to show off her newly finished
nails. “They look better. And we did a whole lot of shopping.”
“Good.
Sounds like a good day to me.”
“I
got the cutest shirt and pair of jeans on sale at…” She stopped and laughed.
“You wouldn’t care…”
“No,
no. I care. Of course I care!” He pulled her closer. “I want to hear about your
day… And besides.” He added with a grin. “Maybe you
could model for me?”
Becky
laughed and playfully pushed him away. “Only if you take me for a walk… even if
it is just around the yard.”
“Deal. Shake on it?” He extended a hand.
Becky
grinned and shook his hand. “Deal.”

Christy
was stretched across the bed, on her stomach.
Around her nearly a hundred magazines were scattered around her on the bed,
with one directly in front of her, as she laid propped up on her elbows.
“Wow?
Was there a sale?”
Christy
jumped, and looked up.
Isaac was standing in the doorway.
She
smiled. “No, I was just looking at wedding things… you know, bridal magazines,
stuff like that.”
“Really?” He crossed the room, sitting on the edge of the
bed.
He glanced at the covers of a few of the magazines. “You’ve really thrown
yourself into the whole wedding thing, haven’t you?”
“Is
that bad? I mean, I’m stuck in this place with nothing really to do… and I know
we haven’t really talked about it…”
“No,
no. It’s good that you’re getting a head start on everything.” He smiled. “What
have you been thinking of?”
“Not much, really. Just looking… the truth is,
I really don’t know where to even start.”
“Well,
the dress is a good start, and you’ve already decided that.”
Christy
smiled. “I’m sure I could find something else which would be much cheaper than
having one specially made…”
“No,
no. I want what makes you happy… Perhaps, we should discuss a budget? Maybe
think about a wedding planner?”
She
smiled. “That would be nice… maybe a date?”
“Sounds
like a plan. Lets take the whole evening, and discuss
all of this stuff. Together.”
“I’d
love that.”
“Me too.” He smiled. “And my mother is dying to talk to
you about all that stuff. She called twice today.”
“Aww… that’s so cute.” She smiled, sitting up.
“Maybe
we can have dinner first? I think Zac and the girls are going to order some
pizzas.”
“Ooh.
Sounds great.” She pushed herself up from the bed.
