Chapter two hundred and thirty six:

Taylor walked to the back of the bus, creeping through the hall of bunks, knowing that Christy was ill and the slightest movement or sound made her vomit. He wanted to stay clear of that: the last thing he wanted was to have someone throw up on him.

He pushed back the curtain and Becky, Zac and Isaac sitting in the back.

“So, someone explain to me what Luke’s doing here?” Taylor asked, flopping down next to Isaac, who was surfing the internet on his laptop.

“He called me last night, and asked if he could come on tour. Said he worked out some kind of agreement with his teachers. His uncle is a benefactor at U of Tulsa and they’re going to make it so he can submit papers through email and he’ll write his exams in December.” Zac supplied.

“I think it’s fantastic that he was able to do that, and be here to help her out.” Becky smiled. “It’s sweet.”

“It will certainly be a help to us.” Isaac admitted. “Christy has the morning sickness going on, and he’ll most likely help wherever he can.”

Taylor wasn’t about to argue with his brothers but added. “Seven people, on one bus… with two sick girls… You don’t think that’s a bit much?” He asked.

“I think we can handle it.” Becky added, reaching her hand into a bowl of M&Ms. “We can take shifts. And it’ll be great Luke could take us shopping and it won’t be like before where we were stuck in the hotel the entire time.”

“I don’t know if that’ll happen.” Isaac spoke up. “We’ll take it one step at a time… from what I hear about that website-“

“What website?” Christy asked. She had appeared in the door way, and picked up on the only part of the conversation she didn’t understand.

Isaac followed Christy towards the hall of bunks.

“Isaac, what website? You still haven’t answered me!” She protested.

“I will, just climb back into your bunk and I’ll tell you.”

She nodded and climbed up to the third level of bunks and re-settled in the bunk she had been sleeping in. She lay down and he pulled the blankets up over her. “Do you want another pillow?”

“No, I want you to tell me what’s going on!” She argued. “Tell me!”

He sighed and folded his arms on the edge of the bunk. “I didn’t tell you because it happened when we were on our honeymoon, and I didn’t want to upset you with finding out you’re pregnant and-“

“You’ve been keeping this from me since then?!”

“Honey,” He continued calmly. “Becky found a website that had a lot of personal information on it… your personal information. They had a lot of personal stuff on there, with your phone numbers and they had a lot of photos of you girls posted where you were randomly doing things.”

“Oh my god… those people…”

“Stalkers honey. They’re like… paparazzi, taking photos of you at every show, when you go to the coffee houses…”

“Oh my god.”

“We had the site taken down, but there’s really no way to stop it from re-appearing in the future.”

She drew in a deep breath.

“Honey, I didn’t want to upset you and I didn’t want it to spoil our honeymoon, please understand-“

“I can’t… I can’t talk to you right now. You should have told me!” She jerked the curtain closed.

“C…” He tried. “I’m sorry.”

“I have nothing more to say to you right now.” She replied from behind the curtain.

Luke was seated next to Jen in the front lounge of the bus. He was trying to get her to nap, but instead, she kept kissing him.

“I’m so glad you came,” She said kissing his cheek.

“Jen, I’m glad to be here too-“ She interrupted him by kissing his lips. “But you really should nap, you’ve got to save your strength and rest.” She kissed his throat, cheek and then lips again.

“I’ll nap later.” She argued, still kissing him. She kissed his forehead, and his other cheek. “Kiss me.”

Luke placed one hand on her knee and kissed her cheek. “Love, I’m glad to be here too, but-“ She silenced him with a kiss. “You’ve got to take it easy.”

She kissed him again.

“Jen… Jen. Wait.” He stopped her, and chuckled. “Love,” He said, looking into her eyes. “When you start feeling a little better.” He dropped his voice. “We’ll do all the kissing and stuff you want, okay?”

She laughed. “I’m sorry, I was just so happy to see you…”

“I know… I should have called you… it was a last minute thing…”

She nodded, and stifled a yawn.

“See?” He grinned. “You are tired…” He pointed out.

“Okay.” She nodded.

“Want to sleep here or in the bunk?”

“Here.” She added. “Christy is throwing up in the bunks.”

Luke laughed. “Okay.” He then whispered. ‘I’ll stay with you until you fall asleep.”

“You don’t have to if you don’t want to-“

“I want to. It’ll make me feel better.” He continued in a whisper.

She smiled. “Okay.”
