Chapter twenty:
Becky was sitting next to Jenna on the bus. Jenna was busy attempting to do a
crossword in a magazine she had stolen from Christy earlier. But for the fourth
time in a row, she groaned in frustration and frantically erased what she had
written.
”Do you want to talk about it?” Becky asked.
”No. There’s nothing to talk about.” Jenna forced a smile.
“I’m okay, really.”
Becky knew this was a lie. “Okay. Well, listen, when we get to
Jenna smiled. “Okay, that sounds good.”
”We could go shopping and stuff… I don’t know…”
”Sure.” Jenna nodded.
”Umm listen… do you want me to see if Zac has any single friends?” She asked,
even though she already had Zac looking into it.
”A pity date?”
”Well, not really a pity date… just maybe someone you could go out with and
have a good time with…” Becky tried. “And if it doesn’t work out… you got a
free meal out of it.”
Jenna laughed at that. “Okay, but promise me you won’t set me up with some…
geeky Nintendo nerd… mama’s boy…”
Becky smiled. “Oh come on, you know I love you more than that!” Becky hugged
Jenna tightly.

”Who was that?” Zac asked.
”No one.” He replied.
“Come
on! Who was it?”
”A friend.”
”Really? Didn’t think you had many of those.” Zac
teased.
”Cool. What did he want?”
”There’s a party tonight. He wanted to know if I wanted to go…”
”Am I invited?”
”No.”
”Too bad. Ian is my friend too and some of my friends are going to be there, so
I’m going.” Zac shrugged.
”Oh man, you love me and you know it.”

Christy stood in front of the mirror in the room she was now sharing with Becky and Jen. She loved this hotel. It was so modern and posh. Everything was so elegant and because she was staying in the VIP section, people called her ‘madam’.
She loved LA, the fact that people were so glamorous, even just walking down the street.
She looked down at her mini-skirt, tank top and knee high platform boots.
She was looking forward to a night out with Isaac, however she was getting nervous. She was meeting her boyfriend’s friends for the first time and she was terrified they wouldn’t like her.
She heard a knock at the door and turned to see Isaac standing in the doorway
with a mug of coffee in each hand.
”Hey.” He came into the room, passing her a mug. “You
look great.” He kissed her cheek and sat down on the edge of her bed.
”You think so?” She turned back to the mirror, pushing her long hair back from
her face. “You don’t think it’s too… slutty?”
”No. I think it’s good for a club.” He sipped his coffee. To be honest, he
thought the skirt was a little too short, but he wasn’t about to complain.
”Okay,” She sat next to him and sighed heavily.
”What?” He asked.
”Nothing…. I’ve just never met my boyfriends friends
before…” She took a sip from her mug of coffee. “I’ve never had a real
boyfriend before…”
”I still find that hard to believe.”
”It’s true. Usually guys only want me for…” She stopped.
”For?”
”For sex.” She added slowly.
He nodded silently and they sat sipping their coffee.
Finally he spoke. “Umm… how many? If… if you don’t
mind me asking.”
Christy exhaled slowly. “Do you really want to know?”
”Yeah.” He said after a long pause.
”I don’t know exactly.” She said at last.
”Oh… you don’t have like a rough estimate? I mean… a few guys… a lot…”
”How many is a lot?” She asked nervously tapping her fingers on the ceramic.
”Well… a football stadium is a lot.”
Christy laughed at that. “Definitely less than that.”
She set down her mug. “Look, honey… I’ve done a lot of things I’m not proud of…
that being one of them. If I had known I was going to meet you… I would have
definitely waited. I did a lot of stupid things when I was a teenager… I like
you, and I don’t want the fact that I’m a whore, at least before I met you, get
in the way of that… of us…”
He smiled. “Okay… I like you too… I understand entirely.”
”You do?”
He
nodded. “Of course… I should get ready… don’t worry about tonight. They’ll love
you.” He kissed her and got up to leave.
