Chapter one hundred and seventy three:

Zac walked off the stage after a quick practice, whistling. He continued the upbeat melody down the hall and into the VIP lounge where Isaac and Taylor were sitting.

Isaac looked up from his laptop with raised eyebrows. “Wow, someone is in a great mood today, considering you slept in a bunk last night.”

Zac shrugged. “Yeah, I guess so.”

“Well at least you seem well rested. Because the rest of us aren’t.” Taylor grumbled.

Zac laughed. “Did I snore?”

“Yes.” Both Taylor and Isaac replied.

“Well, I slept excellently.” Zac shrugged.

“Of course you did.” Taylor rolled his eyes.

“Wow, you’ve been bitchy ever since we got on the bus in Nevada.”

“Yeah, well that may just be the lack of sleep.”

“Really? I would have guessed PMS.” Zac retorted, without skipping a beat.

“Guys!” Isaac interrupted. “Look, we’re all tired. We’re all cranky. Can we get on with it?”

Taylor nodded slowly and Zac extended a hand, which Taylor slapped in an unspoken truce.

“Great, now that we’re on good terms, Zac, do you mind telling us what you’re so cheery about?” Isaac asked.

“Yeah,” Taylor chided, “Did you get Laid or something?”

Zac shrugged. “Maybe.”

Taylor and Isaac exchanged glances. “I guess that’s a no…”

“It’s an almost.” Zac corrected. “Let’s just leave it there.”

Jenna sighed and snapped closed her laptop.
She had been checking her email and messing around on the internet, but with no one online to talk to and the only new emails in her inbox being from Luke, she decided that even her computer was trying to belittle her.

She didn’t even open the letters from Luke. She knew that hearing from him would only complicate things further.

She still hadn’t spoken to Taylor yet. She deduced that Taylor was attempting to avoid her since they had been in such close quarters and she had barely seen him in an entire day.

Jenna sighed in exasperation. She got up from the small kitchen table and opened the blinds a crack.

She peered outside to see the fans already lining up, surrounding the other side of the bus, hoping for a glimpse of the band.

The door opened with a loud clanking noise and the bus rocked slightly as Christy and Becky returned to the bus.
“Hey Jen. Is your headache gone?” Becky asked.

“Yes.” Jen replied, even though she knew her headache was only just beginning.

“The guys suggested we stay in the bus and hang out until after the show starts. The bodyguard is running late, so it’s just us.” Christy explained. “Ike thinks it will be best if we wait until the crowd goes inside before we join them.”

Jen nodded. “There are definitely a lot of girls out there.”

“I know, the line goes all the way around the building.” Becky agreed.
