Chapter one hundred and seventy-two:

Christy curled up closer to Isaac on the u-shaped sofa in the back lounge.

After everyone else had gone to bed, they sat up watching the latest video he had purchased.

She pulled the blanket she had taken from one of the spare bunks up around her shoulders more and rested her head on his shoulder.

“You okay, honey?” He asked tightening his arm around her body.
”Yeah. I’m just a little tired.”

“You can go to bed if you want.” He urged. “I’d like to see the end of this though…”

She smiled. “That’s okay. I’d prefer to spend as little time in that stupid little bunk as possible.”

He chuckled. “I know. I guess we could probably sleep out here if we want.”

“That’s okay. I’ll wait until you’re done your movie, and we’ll go to bed at the same time.”

“Alright. Think we can both fit in the same bunk?” He chuckled, kissing her forehead.

“Are you kidding? Those stupid bunks are worse than caskets. Honestly.” She sighed. “I never get any sleep in those things.”

“Really? I never seem to have any problems getting to sleep on the bus.”

“Yeah, but you sleep like a bear in hibernation.”

“Believe it or not, I’ve actually heard that before.” He laughed.

“I believe it.” She teased, gently prodding him in the side with her index finger.

“Hey, it could be worse. At least I don’t snore. Zac has that pretty much covered.”

“No kidding.” Christy laughed. “And you do snore sometimes, baby, when you’re really tired.”

“Sorry. I don’t do it intentionally.”

“I know. It doesn’t bother me. I’m used to it now.”

“But you’re such a light sleeper. You hear everything.”

“Yeah, but now I can’t seem to sleep without you.”

“I can’t sleep without you either.” He grinned and kissed the top of her hair. “But tomorrow night we’ll be back in a hotel, and we’ll both get a good night’s sleep.”

Christy laughed. “Who knows maybe neither of us will be doing any sleeping.”

Becky pushed her sunglasses up on her nose as she stepped off the bus in the parking lot of the club. The boys had long since gone into the venue in order to warm up and do a sound check.

“Jesus, can it get any hotter out here?” Christy asked, following Becky from the bus.

“Can you bitch about the heat anymore?” Becky replied.

Christy laughed. “Wow, someone has been on the bus a bit too long.”

“I don’t know, maybe it’s the heat.” Becky sighed, locking the bus door behind them.

“Alright, I’ll buy that.” Christy caught up to Becky’s stride. “So tell me, with this new rooming arrangement, have you and Zac been going at it like bunnies or what?”

“Not exactly.” Becky replied somewhat glumly.

“What does that mean?” Christy replied “Are you holding out on him or is he holding out on you?”

“It’s not that.” Becky replied, glancing around to see if any fans had managed to sneak around to the back. “We were making out last night and it just didn’t seem like the right time. I mean, we talked about it, and we’re both ready, but when we were alone and kissing it just… like it wasn’t the right time. I love him and everything, and he loves me, and we’re ready… I just don’t understand why we can’t do it.”

“Wait a minute, you guys talked about it?” Christy asked in disbelief. “Sex doesn’t happen by talking about it, it happens by just doing it. It’s about the moment and the feelings, you know? When it happens it happens.”

Becky nodded. “Okay. That’s actually really good advice.”

“See?” Christy lifted her shoulders. “Sometimes I can be brilliant.”

Becky laughed and opened the door to the backstage area. “Yeah, when it comes to sex.”
