Chapter one hundred and fifty-five:

Taylor ran after Jen as they both hurried to get out of the rain that was streaming down. He had given her his jacket after she claimed she didn’t want to mess up her hair, and even though she held it over her as she ran, she was still getting drenched.

She stopped under the awning, and shook her hands at her sides. “That’s so cold!”

He chuckled. “No kidding, you’re soaked already!” He pulled his coat away from her and shook it out.

She smoothed her hair down with her hands. “Does my hair look okay?”

He fought back what he was actually thinking. “Yeah, it looks fine.”

“Great, come on.” She pulled open the door and he followed her inside.

Taylor stood next to her, watching her as she stared up at the screen which displayed what movies were playing.

“Picked a movie yet?” He teased.

“Yeah.”

She approached the counter and ordered two tickets for the movie she selected and before she could get her wallet from her purse, Taylor removed his wallet from his back pocket and paid for their tickets.

Tay, you don’t have to-“ Jen began as he accepted their tickets from the woman at the counter.

“I know I don’t have to, but I thought it would be nice if I treat you tonight.”

Jen smiled. “Fine, but I’ll pay for the popcorn.”

“No, you won’t.” He argued. “What kind of a gentleman would I be if I let you pay?”

Jenna laughed. “Wow, that’s so chivalrous of you.”

“Oh yeah, I forgot, you’re such a feminist.”

She planted her hands on her hips and raised her eyebrows.

“Well, if you ever decide to burn your bra, let me know and I’ll be there.” He wasn’t entirely kidding. “What do you want to drink?”

“Umm… diet Pepsi?”

“Okay, I’ll be right back,”

Jen waited patiently while he went to the concession stand and returned with a large bucket of popcorn and two drinks. He handed one to her, and followed her towards the theater.

“Where do you want to sit?”

“You choose.” She smiled, following him up the stairs.
