Chapter One
Hundred and Thirty One:
Isaac was slouched on
the sofa, barely watching a movie, and at the same time, anonymously surfing
the band’s website on his laptop.
Zac was simply
enjoying the car crashes.
“So,
remind me again what the girls are doing?”
Isaac drew in a
deep breath and replied “They’re upstairs watching movies. They thought
that since it was their last night in this house they should spend the evening
doing girl stuff together.”
An expression of
confusion crossed
Isaac shrugged.
“Christy said it’s a girl’s night only thing…. I
don’t get it either.”
“And why
can’t we go up there?” Zac asked munching on popcorn.
“Because
you’re not a girl.” Isaac laughed.
“Any why
isn’t
“It was
just a question, jeeze.” Zac laughed.
They sat in silence
for several moments in silence, watching the movie.
A sudden scream
erupted from upstairs.
Immediately,
Isaac dumped his computer off his lap and ran up thee stairs as fast as he
could, with Taylor and Zac close behind.
Isaac shoved
open the door with his shoulder and burst into the room to find all three girls
stretched across his bed and laughing hysterically.
“What the
fuck is going on?”
“Sorry.”
Becky attempted, but failed to stop laughing.
“It’s
okay. We’re fine, we were watching a scary
movie.” Christy explained. “The guy jumped out and we all got
scared and screamed. It’s okay.” Christy smiled at Isaac,
“I’m sorry. We didn’t mean to scare
you…”
”Everything’s okay? Are you sure?” Isaac asked again.
“Yeah,
we’re fine, really. It won’t happen again.”
This remark
caused the girls to burst into fits of giggles again.

Zac pulled the
covers down on the bed, stacking the pillows into the position he preferred
them again.
“So what
was this movie called?”
Becky giggled,
fastening her hair into a pony-tail. “It was ‘Texas Chainsaw
Massacre’. Zac, it was so scary!”
“Yeah? What was so scary about it?” He
climbed into bed and laid on his side, facing her.
Becky was
sitting on her own side of the bed with her legs crossed. She bounced her
knees. “It was… I don’t know. The guy would jump out with
this big rusty chain saw and kill people. It was gross! I couldn’t watch
that part. I hate blood.” She smiled. “I don’t know. It just
freaked me out.”
“Alright,
do you want me to guard the door with a baseball bat in case a chainsaw
wielding psychopath comes after us?”
Becky smiled.
“Zac, that’s ridiculous. If someone came through that door with a
chainsaw, a baseball bat wouldn’t last long would it?”
Zac laughed.
“Good point.”
“Let’s
just go to sleep.” She laughed. “We have an early flight tomorrow.

Knowing they
were leaving early the next morning, he tossed his dirty shirt into his
suitcase and zipped it closed.
He stretched his
arms over his head and yawned tiredly, just as he was interrupted by a knock at
the door.
“Come
in.” He called.
The door opened
slowly and Jen came into the room.
“Hey, how
are you?” She asked, loosely folding her arms over her chest.
“I’m
alright. How are you?”
She shrugged.
“Okay… listen, can I ask you a weird… probably really stupid
question?”
“Sure,
anything.” He
said quickly.
“Can I uhh… stay with you tonight?”
He raised his
eyebrows.
“That
movie we watched has me… a little freaked out… and Becky is
sleeping in Zac’s room…”
The air
conditioner suddenly turned itself on, and Jenna jumped, quickly crossing the
room.
“Thanks
“No,
you’re not a baby. The point of a scary movie is to get scared,
right?”
Jenna laughed. “Right.”
“Okay,
which side of the bed do you want?”
“It
doesn’t matter. Right, I guess.”
“Alright. Want me to leave a nightlight on?”
Jenna rolled her
eyes. “Oh come on.” She pushed back the blankets and climbed into
bed. “Are you sure this won’t be… awkward?” She
questioned.
“Nah…
just… umm… don’t tell Luke, right? He’d have my
balls.”
“Ah
yes.” Jenna laughed. “The most important part of
the male anatomy.”
