Chapter one
hundred and thirty:
Becky was
walking back and forth in her bed room, half putting things away and half
packing her suitcases.
After looking
for bridesmaids dresses, the girls had gone to the
nearest mall simply to enjoy the rare occasion away from the house, and most
likely the last chance to do any shopping while in
Becky hadn’t
bought much, just a few hair elastics and a few necessities at
Jen had spent a
large amount of money on books, and Christy spent more than anyone in
Becky looked up
upon hearing a knock at the door. She saw Zac standing in the doorway.
“Hey,
Zaccy. What’s up?”
“Nothing…
just wondering what you were up to.” He smiled, then crossed the room and flopped down onto the
twin bed she was supposed to sleep in throughout their stay in the house, but
didn’t.
Becky smiled.
“Just putting away all the junk I bought.” She turned her back to remove a pair
of jeans from closet. She knew they were too hot to wear in the city, so she
was packing them away.
“I see that.
This is new. I like this!”
Becky turned
around to see Zac holding up a bright pink bra that she had bought.
“Zac!”
“What?! Hey, come on, you see me in my underwear
all the time!”
“That’s
different!” She protested, her smile never fading.
“Okay, well what
about that bikini you have? I’ve seen you wear that and it’s far smaller than
this…” He held the bra up to his chest.
“Zac!” She laughed.
He laughed. “Alright, all right. Come here.”
“Are you going
to put my bra down?”
He tossed it
across the room and it landed in her suitcase. “Better?”
She laughed and
walked over to the bed, clearing a space to lie next to him.
“Tell me about
your day.” He said, laying on his side with one arm propping up his head.
“It was ok. We
looked at a lot of dresses.”
“Did you pick
one?”
Becky shook her
head. “No. But I think Christy has a pretty good idea of what she wants.”
“That’s good.”
Zac nodded.
“What did you
do?”
“I kicked Ike’s
ass a video boxing.”
“Nice.” Becky
laughed. “You’re such a geek.”
“I know, but
that’s why you love me, right?”
“Yeah.” She laughed. “I love you.”
“I love you
too.”
