Chapter one hundred and twenty-nine:

Christy, Jenna and Becky were sitting together at a table in a restaurant, all looking through bridal magazines.
Jenna sighed boredly and closed her magazine. She had ordered a salad but wasn’t looking forward to it’s arrival.

She really wasn’t hungry, but felt compelled to eat, since everyone seemed to be anxiously awaiting her to do so.

She looked across to Jimmy the body guard and sighed heavily.

Even he seemed to be waiting for her to slip up so he could lecture her.

“You know, maybe a light pink dress would be pretty.” Becky suggested. “Something strapless like you said…”

“Actually, I think that would totally work with the red roses that Isaac and I chose…”

“What about his tux? Have you chosen that yet?”

“No… We’ve picked out a few, but we’ve been more concerned with other things, you know?

Jenna sighed heavily. She was already getting sick of listening to wedding details.

She missed Luke.

Taylor packed the last of the half used candles, incense sticks and various other charms, toys and art pieces that were sporadically placed throughout the studio. His brothers had offered to help him clean out what was left in the studio before they left for Tulsa, but Taylor insisted on doing it himself.

He found the clean up after months of creativity soothing, and a wonderful and relaxing way to cap off the studio session.

Taylor climbed on top of one of the desks and began prying loose the Christmas lights which Zac had tucked into the moldings between the wall and ceiling.

Packing up after being in the studio was always an interesting process.

Sometimes he found change he or Isaac had left laying around, and once he found a half eaten bucket of Chinese food that Zac had left in the mini fridge.

He enjoyed finding old song lyrics and revisiting the moment in his head.

But above all, this process gave him something to do.

It kept his mind away from Jen and his feelings for her, which never seemed to subside.

But now he had something new to worry about. He knew she wasn’t eating properly.

He could tell she was wasting away in front of everyone’s eyes.

Taylor simply needed to make up his mind whether or not to tell Luke.

----------------------------------------

Isaac sighed in frustration after loosing another game of video boxing to Zac.

It was particularly frustrating loosing to your younger brother repeatedly.

He reached for his beer and drained the rest of the bottle.

He didn’t drink often, just casually, and lazing around the house while Christy was out seemed like an opportunity to sit back; put his feet up and open a beer.

He also used the excuse of going to the kitchen for a second beer to call Christy.

He had to admit he was worried about her and the other girls, even if they were with Jimmy.

He worried that something might happen to them, and he especially wondered if Christy was telling the truth about how she was feeling physically.

Isaac suspected she was probably terribly upset about the whole ordeal, and was probably still feeling unlike her usual self, but he also knew she wouldn’t admit to it.
The last thing Christy wanted to do was worry Isaac, and he understood that. But he couldn’t help worry about the woman he loved.

He stood up from the sofa and made his mind up to call her again, simply to be sure everything was okay.
