Chapter one
hundred and twenty one:
Becky was lying awake in Zac’s bed early in the
morning.
She had nestled her small body in against Zac’s warm
body, resting her head on his bare chest.
She had been so
incredibly happy on her date with Zac, especially at the end when he had told
her he loved her.
Just reminding
herself of that moment brought a smile to her lips.
She loved him
too, and had felt it for a long time, but hearing him say it; truthfully
sitting down and telling her he loved her was the best moment in her life.
She moved closer
to him, nestling her body against his warm skin.
Zac stirred in his sleep and made a sharp grunting noise.
Becky smiled to
herself at his cuteness and stretched to kiss him on the cheek.
He made another
grunting noise and tightened his arm around her.
Becky giggled
and kissed him again, kissing along his jaw and finally reaching his lips. She
climbed on top of him, perching herself on his abdomen, while continuing to
kiss him.
Zac chuckled. “I
think you should wake me up like this more often.” He grinned.
“I think you
should wake up and kiss me.” She teased tousling his hair.
“And miss the
excellent view down your top? No way!” He smirked.
Becky playfully
swatted his chest and moved to get off him. Instead, he flipped her onto her
back and turned onto his side.
Becky laughed as
his arm circled her waist again and he leaned over her to kiss her.
She smiled, as
he kissed her nose.
“You’re so cute
in the morning.” He grinned, kissing her throat. “I love waking up next to
you.” He made a trail of kisses down the side of her neck and nuzzled her
shoulder.
Becky shrieked
with laughter, kicking her legs and struggling to break away.
“What? What?” He
asked with a laugh.
“You’re all… stubbly.”
She laughed, “It tickles.” She ran her hand along the coarse hair of his cheek.
He grinned.
“Sorry. Want me to shave first? Then I’ll kiss you again?”
She laughed.
“Maybe… I guess I should get up… Are you going to shower?”
“Uhh… yeah.”
“Maybe I’ll make
you pancakes, then shower after…”
“Wow, you’re
going to make out with me, then feed me? You spoil me.”
“I know. But I
love you.” She teased.
“I love you
too.” He smiled.

Jenna was
sitting on a stool at the kitchen island. She closed her cell phone, groaned
and dropped her head onto her forearms in frustration.
“Jen? You okay? There’s a lot of groaning
going on in here, and you’re by yourself…”
“I’m trying to
call the hospital, to see how Christy is, and they won’t tell me. And Luke
still hasn’t called.”
Jen finally
lifted her head “You’d do that?”
”Yeah, sure.” He held up the empty can of coffee
“We’re out of coffee, so we have to stop at Starbucks.”
“Great!” She
shrieked, and jumped to her feet, hugging him. “Give me five seconds to get
dressed!” She ran past him up and out of the kitchen.
“Good morning,
“Yeah, I
couldn’t sleep.”
“Really? Want some pancakes?”
“Nah, I don’t
think so.” He forced a smile. “I’m going to take Jen over to the hospital to
see Christy. Want to go?”
“Umm…” Becky
paused. “No, she’s coming home today, right? Maybe I’ll just wait until later.
I want to shower anyway.”
“Alright… want
anything while we’re out?”
Jenna appeared
in the kitchen. “I grabbed some clothes for Christy, I hope-“
“Jesus Christ!”
Jen hoisted the
bag up onto a stool. “I know, but no matter what I pick for her, she’ll hate
it… so I packed multiple transitional pieces that she can mix and match… and
her purse, she’ll need that.”
”Make up…. And two pairs of shoes.” Jenna laughed.
