Makin' It HappenJC explains they've got a whole new album to choreograph, "and poof, you don't just know it, so we have to learn it." Next, we meet 18-year-old bleach-blonde hottie Wade J. Robson, one of the choreographers, and he gives us a cheesy smile. I wonder if *NSYNC gets jealous that their choreographer is both younger and hotter than they are. Yum. I loves me some Wade.
Graphic at the bottom of the screen: "One month before tour starts". *NSYNC's in a dance rehearsal. Justin explains they're taking a week to get comfortable with the choreography so they'll be ready to stage it when their actual stage is done. Lance explains they'll be working every day until the tour starts. JC says they'll be pushing themselves harder and they'll "dance until the skin on [their] feet comes off." Ew.
Wade and the guys practice the choreography for the song "No Strings Attached", which I love. Lance does all the steps right, but he's still obviously not a dancer. That's okay. I love you anyway! Rehearsal ends and Lance comments that "that was actually a lot better than I thought it was gonna be" in his heavy Mississippian accent. What is he talking about? The choreography? Is he implying that Wade's choreography is not usually spectacular? I smell a rumble.
End of rehearsal. and the guys go home. For the record, Chris has a red PT Cruiser, Joey's got some kind of black four-door SUV, and Lance has a cream-colored Toyota 4-Runner with brown leather interior.
Montage of Orlando prettiness. Hey, an alligator. Cool. Chris talks about how rad Johnny's place is and how this is the kinda place he's going to get when he grows up. Uh... Chris? You're 29, buddy. Joey takes us around the WEG (Wright Entertainment Group) Playground. There's a putting green, a pool, a basketball court, and a sand volleyball court. Joey knocks Johnny's golf skill. Inside, there's a mini-arcade, a bowling alley, a jacuzzi, and a workout room that Joey never uses. "I'm just a lazy fat bum." We meet Jamal, another choreographer who is wearing a red Yankees jersey. Right on, Jamal. Graphic at the bottom of the screen reads "Three Weeks Before Tour Starts" so this is roughly the first week of April 2000. *NSYNC rehearses the dance for "It Makes Me Ill" complete with hospital gurney. Jamal tells us it's cool because *NSYNC adds their own flavor to the dances. Chris and Justin practice their dance steps. Justin is like the choreography God. He's good. REALLY good. The guys rehearse It Makes Me Ill again. Justin is wearing Jamal's Yankees jersey (which makes me think he is cool) and pants with one leg rolled up (which makes him think he is LL Cool J). Whatever. Poor Lance is missing tons of steps. I'm going to give him a little slack though because he looks so cute without any product in his hair. It's like he woke up and said, "To hell with gel!" The song ends, and JC falls over on the floor in mock exhaustion. His shirt rides up like two inches and Mr. Modest immediately pulls it right back down. Tim Miller (sound guy... remember him?) walks into rehearsal. Chris says "Finally the real choreographer got here!" This is only funny if you've ever seen what Tim Miller looks like. He couldn't choreograph "I'm a Little Teapot".
Tim hands the guys pieces of paper. Lance shows us what's on the paper and breaks the fourth wall. He says in an overly dramatic voice "The stage!...and how much it costs." Someone has a watch or a beeper or something that's playing Beethoven and it's totally distracting me.
Sweaty-browed Lance is sitting on a couch next to Joey and calls a wardrobe meeting. Chris is looking at the price list and says "Oh my God! Whatever happened to the days when we went down to the mall and picked up shirts for our shows?" Yeah, like you could really go within 100 yards of a mall now without being mauled by hordes of girls. Shot of Digital Getdown pants. Shot of Chris' Just Got Paid vest which has actual $1 bills inside it. Chris says, "This is crazy!" And it is. Lance comments that the clothes are gonna be more than their stage. Chris, reading the price list again, screams "what?!" out of shock when he sees how much something costs. Lance mouths to the camera that it's a lot of money. JC appears out of nowhere and says, "We should talk about this though. Tell them they gotta do better than that." Lance and Chris say it doesn't bother them. Joey explains to the camera that they just get thrown this stuff in between rehearsals. What are they talking about here? The costuming? JC doesn't like it? GOD. This stupid MTV editing is not letting me know what's going on. (I watch the Real World though, so I'm used to it.)
Back in the rehearsal room, the guys are doing the No Strings Attached dance and Wade is drinking infared PowerAde, which is my favorite kind. Wade is trying to send me subliminal hints that I am the girl of his dreams and he wants to come sweep me off my feet and take me to a magical place where we can bleach each others' hair and guzzle sports drinks. Or not. Anyway. Chris says, "So wait a minute. We're on the second part of the first verse?" Wade says yeah and Chris falls over. These guys work HARD. In an interview, Chris says that the beginning of the tour is the hardest because they forget a lot of their steps. He makes finger-quotes around "a lot", and I'm not sure why. Silly Chris.
After a rehearsal, Justin in a bandana tells the camera they learned choreography for six new songs in two and a half days. GEEZ. Then he adds, "whether it'll come out or not, we don't know." InterviewJC says that they're going to go hang out with the band and vibe with them musically.
