Checkin' It Out

We see the laser shots that were shown in concert before the encores and the guys introduce the video.

Chris: We had a LOT of footage.
Cut to Joey. "We had so much footage from Making the Tour that we’re making a long form."
Cut to Justin. "So you guys can see the things that you might have missed... that we KNOW you missed because we got extra footage. So check it out."
Hey, do you think they've got extra footage? 'Cause they haven't made it clear whether or not there's any extra footage.

Opening rehearsal montage including shots of the conveyor belts, dance rehearsals, pyrotechnics testing, lasers, and screaming fans. "It’s Gonna Be Me" plays in the background.

In what I think is the cutest Justin moment ever, he says "Keep rollin'. Keep watchin’. Don’t press ‘stop’ yet. Plllllay."

That bucket hat needs to be burned, please.
Opening credits that resemble the opening of "Making the Video" except with a soundboard instead of a camera. We see monochrome shots of the guys, including one of Joey where he looks a LOT like his brother Steve. I had to do a double take to make sure it was actually Joey.
Joey = Steve. I'm convinced. It's a conspiracy.
JC says "I'm chilling here in Orlando, Florida, at the compound where we are rehearsing for our No Strings Attached tour." Shots of Compound prettiness. Graphic at the bottom of the screen says *NSYNC Compound, Orlando Florida. I believe JC just said that, you stupid graphic.

Lance tells us that most people don’t understand how much hard work goes into making a tour. Chris talks about how they have a lot of ideas for each song and then comments, "I don’t know how we’re gonna outdo this one because this one’s gonna be NUTS." Lance and his messed-up teeth talk about how the biggest challenge is coming up with bigger and better ideas.

Graphic at the bottom of the screen reads: 2 Months Before Tour Starts. The guys are in la casa de Johnny Wright, their manager. They're deciding on a set list. Justin opens the discussion by saying they shouldn't do Bye Bye Bye because nobody likes it. Hehe. In an interview, fro-head in a bucket hat that Johnny's very involved in the creative process for their live show. Back in Johnny's house, Johnny reads over the set list. Lance is looking hot in a black shirt and jeans and... Whoa. That is the coolest coffee table I've ever seen. It's like a teal-blue swirl that spirals downward. I totally want that table.

Okay where was I? I completely lost my train of thought while taking notes (because I was admiring the coffee table) and had to watch this scene twice. Anyway. The guys go over their set list and JC says, "You know how tired we're gonna be after this? I'm tired just LISTENING to the set list!" Johnny mentions they're going to have to choreograph six or seven new songs.

Must... resist... slashiness... of... this... screencap...
In an interview, Chris tells us about the production manager/sound mixer Tim Miller. JC says, "He's been with us from the beginning from when we were playing clubs with fifty people to now stadiums with sixty to a hundred-thousand people." (Tim Miller also does the sound mixing for Britney Spears. That doesn't come up here, but I just like to pretend I'm smart and spit random pop facts.) Johnny is sitting in his office discussing the cost of the stage with Tim. Johnny guesstimates that the stage will cost a million dollars, but Tim thinks more like $875,000. Oh, is that all? Psh. Pocket change.

Rehearsal montage with the completed stage. JC says, "when people watched our last show, when we flew over the audience... that’s what we call a gag. 'Hey, we're sitting on stools NOPE we're up in the air! 'Hey, everybody!'" JC is so endearing. Chris tells us more about gags. "We hooked up to a fly rig, and we flew, and that was the gag for 'Sailing'. It's not like we played a gag. That's what I thought it was at first. We sat down and we were like 'We need a gag for this one'. I was like, 'I got... like THIRTY of them!'" Chris is a sillyhead of epic proportions.

I want to sit in his lap and ride him like a playground swing. I know! I know! I can't help it.
Johnny and Tim are still going over the budget. Johnny tells Tim he's going to get $74,000 back into the budget by telling Joey they can't use his idea (which idea? They aren't very clear here.), then he looks directly at the camera and corrects himself: "Asking him. We don't tell him anything." Out in a hallway somewhere, Johnny tells Joey (and the bottle of wine Joey's got in his hand!) that they can't find an effective reason to cover the cost of the treadmills. Those treadmills were Joey's idea? That's amazing. They were so cool. I guess Joey isn't as dumb as I thought he was. Joey offers to pay for the treadmills... sorta. He just kinda says, "so now I gotta buy it?" Tim explains that they know it was Joey's idea. Joe tells them that they're an important part of Digital Getdown and it's already choreographed. And also, they're fucking cool. Johnny, in a pained whisper, says he just lost $74,000. Joey grins.

My spellchecker thinks "Digital Getdown" should be "Digital Letdown." Hahahaha.
