SALT OR STONE
A clay bowl of salt, dirt, or an earth imbedded stone is an Irish Wiccans representation of the Earth element in the north of your altar.. Unlike other pagan groups that would use a pentagram or six pointed star in the north. Salt water can also be used to bless your casted circle.
CANDLES
Candles are used in Irish wicca to represent the element Air the southern direction of fire.
Candles are used to scry, light a circle, catalyst for magick, and reprentation of deities. Check out  my
Candle Magic Page and my  Flame Divination Page.
BESOM (witches broom)
The besom is the witches' broomstick which is used in fertily rites and sweeping energies from a circle or house. It is also a phallic symbol as the wand is. Many believed that a besom placed at a fireplace with prevent evil from entering a home.
Lay a besom in front of your door for protection or have it leaning up against  the door.
I have a straw besom that is short (about a forearms length) that I decorated with a hotglue gun and herbs. I also use it to sweep up ashes used in spellcasting.

Go to this crafts page and  see how to make a
besom.
