On December 9, 2000 we found out the good news for sure! We were pregnant with #4! I knew from the day baby was conceived, but it was nice to have the pregnancy stick confirm the news! We decided to tell the kids immediately. Their reaction was pretty much as we expected it to be. A little excited, but not too concerned about what was going on. Surprisingly there weren't very many questions, as if it was commonplace for babies to just "appear" in their mommy's bellies! Britney was probably the most excited, she was hoping for a baby sister. Brice and Nick of course wanted another baby brother (so did Dad). Me, I was hoping for another girl because I always thought it would be neat to have two of each....it would even things out. But, of course it really didn't matter to me. What mattered most was that after all this time, and thinking it would never again happen, I was PREGNANT!!!
We didn't tell anyone else in the family until Christmas time, we thought it would make a good present! So, I got this one pregnancy test called Confirm because you could pull out the positive strip, cut if off and put it on a little card shaped like a heart. I took that little card and put it into an empy ring box, wrapped it up and gave it to my mom for Christmas (she still has it to this day)! It was quite fun seeing her expression when she opened it. She of course started crying and showed it to everyone. Brice later showed it to his mom, saying, "Look what I gave to Trina for Christmas!" It took her a few seconds to understand what it was, but it sure was fun letting the information out that way! Also, I thought it would be appropriate because the last time I had walked up my mom's stairs was the day I came to tell her that Dad had passed away during the night. This time, I came with news of a new life! |
