The vocabulary refers to two different ways of saying this:
(a) the adjective modifies (agrees with) the person.

carnagione (complexion). Remember that the adjective
modifies (agrees with) la carnagione, not with
the person, so it is always feminine singular.

agire means to
act as in to do something, to perform an action. It never means
to act as in to perform a role in a play. That verb
is recitare.

. . Chiara è una brava persona e agisce in modo gentile

e recita molto bene.
andare
di moda; essere alla moda. Some of our textbooks have
a misprint in the note to this vocabulary entry.
When a thing is in fashion (in style) the expression is andare
di moda.
When a person is up-to-date with fashion and style, the expression
is essere alla moda.
prendersela
a cuore. Note the presence of two pronouns. The first
is a reflexive pronoun and it changes according to the subject.
The second is a direct object pronoun and stands for whatever
it is that someone takes to heart. Regardless of what that
something is, la is invariable.

la prendi, lui se la prende, ecc...
avere
l'aria... to look... This expression requires an adjective,
and the adjective modifies (agrees with) aria, not with
the person, so the adjective is always feminine singular.

. . . James e Vittorio hanno l'aria stanca.
