The
area
CAPRAROLA is a town of 5.000 inhabitants in the north
of Rome (distance from Rome about 50 km). It is located
600 mt. above the sea level
near the lake of Vico (natural reserve) and on the border of the Cimini
forest - another natural protected area .
The town is famous world-wide for the XVI th century
Palazzo Farnese, designed by Sangallo and Vignola and with the famous frescos by
Taddeo Zuccari, around which the town of Caprarola was built.
Tourism has not yet been exploited, giving the town a
natural touch that
it is difficult to find elsewhere. Caprarola remains an agricultural community
with a natural
and peaceful approach to life - as it was years ago. It is a centre for the
production of hazelnuts and is located
between Rome and
Viterbo. In the surrounding area
there are many
historic towns of great artistic importance and the whole area, which is
in the centre of the Etruscan civilization territory,
is one of the few around Rome that has not been spoilt by the creation of
industries and commerce. The historic centre around the Palazzo Farnese
has many
buildings (made of tufa blocks, quarried in the locality) that were used
by the servants of the Farnese family.
How to get there:
CAPRAROLA
is 45 minutes by car from the
centre of Rome or 20 minutes by car from the nearest railway station, from where
it is possible to reach the centre (St.Peters) in 20 minutes (1 train every 20
minutes) linked to the Rome underground system. Near Caprarola - 10
minutes by car - there is
the Sutri Golf Club, one of the best golf course in the area that is run
by the Official Golf Federation.
The
house is about 150 sq. m., it is built on 3 floors ( entrance, main floor and top
floor under the roof) with inside
steps.
It
has 3 bedrooms (1 single and 2 double) ,2 bathrooms, one cellar, a large kitchen
with barbecue-grill (wood fired), a large sitting room with a fire place and a
large wooden loft span (mezzanine living space under roof of original wooden
beams). The ceiling of the sitting room is
6 meters high, spanned by original wooden beams. The finishings are made
with typical local materials (chestnut wood, terracotta floors) and are very
simple, respecting the character of the place and its position (where it is standing.)
Few cars can run in the narrow streets and there is no pollution, making the air clear and fresh; in addition the altitude makes the location nice and cool during the hot months.

Economic and financial
For
the house we would be ready to sign a medium term rent contract for a monthly
amount equivalent to Euro 1.000,00 and a weekly amount equivalent to Euro
500,00, not including all adding expensens such as the costs of energy,
telephone, heating, cleaning of house and linen, etc.
