CHRYSLER CHOOSES THE DALLARA SPORTS CHASSIS FOR HIS 2001 LE MANS EFFORT
CHRYSLER SCEGLIE IL TELAIO SPORT DALLARA PER IL SUO PROGRAMMA LE MANS 2001
The project-problems and the lack of competitiveness of the Reynard chassis in this year 24h Le Mans race led Chrysler and his official team ORECA to choose the new sports chassis that Dallara is going to produce for the 2001 season. Dallara is actually involved in the final aerodynamics definition of the car which will be ready for the end of this year.

I problemi progettuali e la mancanza di competitivit� del telaio Reynard nella 24 Ore di Le Mans di quest'anno hanno portato la Chrysler e il suo team ufficiale ORECA a scegliere il nuovo telaio sport che la Dallara � intenzionata a produrre nel 2001. La Dallara � in questi giorni impegnata nella definitiva messa a punto dell'aerodinamica della nuova macchina che sar� pronta per la fine dell'anno.

Dallara is now producing only Formula 3 and Formula Indy cars, both three-years run projects and this year was in search of a new program to start. GiamPaolo Dallara has choosen to develop a new sports car, starting from the experience done with the Ferrari 333 Sp, the Toyota GT1 and other successful GT and sportscars and counting on one of the largest R&D facilities in the world. The will was, form the start of this program, to reach a deal with a big car make and now with the co-working with Chrysler, Dallara may count on a works team to make a big debut into the Sarthe race.

La Dallara attualmente produce solo Formula 3 e Formula Indy, entrambi progetti di durata triennale e pertanto quest'anno si presentava la possibilit� di iniziare un nuovo programma. GiamPaolo Dallara ha scelto di sviluppare una nuova sport prototipo, partendo dall'esperienza maturata con la Ferrari 333 Sp, la Toyota GT1 e altre GT e sport di primo piano e potendo contare su uno dei reparti progettazione pi� grandi del mondo. Fin dall'inizio del progetto c'era l'intenzione di raggiungere un accordo con una grande Casa e adesso, grazie alla collaborazione con la Chrysler, la Dallara pu� contare su un team ufficiale per un debutto in grande stile nella classica della Sarthe.

For the next year Chrysler is also going to use a totally new four-valves DOHC engine instead of the two-valves stock-block engine adopted this year.
Per l'anno prossimo la Chrysler � inoltre intenzionata a utilizzare un motore 4 valvole con doppio albero a camme in testa in luogo del 2 valvole aste e bilancieri usato quest'anno.
